The iOS 16 operating system has been with us for several months now, and we are always covering it in our magazine anyway. There are countless new functions, gadgets and options available, so there is nothing to be surprised about. Of course, some news are talked about more, some less so - in this article we will focus on the latter group. So let's take a look together at 5 hidden tips in iOS 16 that you need to know, because maybe they will come in handy sometime.

Home screen blur

One of the main innovations in iOS 16 is a completely redesigned lock screen. Users can now create several of these and then place widgets on them. However, there are also many other customization options that can be found within the new lock and home screen customization interface. As for the desktop, there are a few changes available here too, for example you can blur its wallpaper, which can be useful. Just go to Settings → Wallpaper, where subsequently u desktop wallpaper click on Adapt. Here at the bottom just click on blur, and then on Done at the top right.

Turn off end of call by button

There are several ways to end an ongoing call on iPhone. Most of us always take the Apple phone away from our ear, and then tap the red hang up button on the display. In the new iOS 16, the option to end a call using Siri has also been added. In addition, however, the call can also be ended with the side button, but this does not suit many users, as it is often pressed by mistake. The good news is that, new in iOS 16, users can press the button to end a call. Just go to Settings → Accessibility → Touch, where below activate possibility Prevent call termination by locking.

Hide the Search button on the desktop

Immediately after updating to iOS 16, you must have noticed a small Search button at the bottom of the home screen, along with a magnifying glass icon. This button is used to activate Spotlight easily and quickly. While most users don't mind this button, there are of course individuals who can't stand it. Fortunately, it can be hidden - just go to Settings → Desktop, where in the category Search using a switch deactivate possibility Display on desktop.

View a message's edit history

It probably goes without saying that in Messages within iOS 16 we can delete and edit sent messages. However, what many users don't know is that you can view the original text of edited messages, absolutely all of them. It's not complicated - you just need to under the edited message they tapped on the blue text Edited. Subsequently, all older versions of the message will be displayed. At the end, I will just add that the message can be edited a total of five times, within 15 minutes of sending.

Simple contact deletion

Contacts are, of course, an integral part of every (smart) phone. You surely know that if you wanted to delete any contact until now, you had to search for it in the Contacts application (or in Phone → Contacts), open it, tap Edit and then delete it. It's quite a complicated procedure for such a simple action, so Apple has simplified it in iOS 16. If you would now like to delete a contact, simply click on it hold your finger and tap on in the menu Delete. In the end, of course, you have to take action confirm.
