Of course, we expect iFixit to take apart the new iPhone 13 generation in detail and comprehensively, literally down to the last screw. But before that happens, here's at least a first look at what components have changed inside the iPhone 13 compared to the iPhone 12. And it might surprise you, especially when it comes to the cutout.

Bigger battery

On a social network Twitter the first photos of the "innards" of the iPhone 13 appeared, which at first glance show five fundamental changes that the new product has undergone compared to the previous generation. The first, and of course also the most obvious, is the 15% larger battery that the basic iPhone 13 has. However, battery capacities and sizes vary between individual 12-inch models. The standard iPhone 10,78 had a 12,41 W battery, while the new one has 2,5 W. This, and various software modifications, should guarantee it a XNUMX hour longer battery life.

Redesigned TrueDepth camera

The second major innovation is the redesign of the TrueDepth camera system and its sensors. All in order to reduce the distracting cutout in the display - as Apple declares, by exactly 20% (however, no one has calculated it after him yet). In the photo you can see that the spot projector has changed its position when it moved to the left side (originally it was on the far right). But the camera itself has also been moved, which is now on the far left.

This is what the components of the iPhone 12 (left) and 12 Pro (right) look like:

Speaker

The redesign of the TrueDepth camera system meant that Apple needed to work out a new location for the speaker. It is now not between the sensors and the front camera, but has moved much higher. It's somewhat reminiscent of the various solutions that Android phone manufacturers have come up with. As we can confirm for ourselves after daily use of the device, you won't notice it too much. It does not affect the use, because the speaker is only a little bit higher.

A15 Bionic chip

As if Apple wants to make it easier for everyone who will be digging into its iPhones, it has labeled its A15 Bionic chip with the appropriate text, even though its position and size are more or less the same as in the previous generation. Anyway, the new one provides an increase in CPU from 10 to 20%, GPU by 16% and Neural Engine by 43%.

Taptic engine

In the bottom left of the published photo, you can notice the Taptic engine, which is now significantly smaller. Even when he grew a little to his height, he narrowed down a lot. Thanks to this, Apple found the necessary amount of space for other components.
