Last year, Apple introduced the Focus feature, which completely replaced the original Do Not Disturb mode. It was definitely needed, as Do Not Disturb lacked many basic features that were absolutely crucial for users. As part of the Concentration, apple growers can create several different modes, for example work or home, for driving, etc., which can then be customized individually, and indeed in detail. With the arrival of iOS 16, Apple decided to improve the concentration modes even more, and in this article we will take a look at 5 new options in Concentration that you should know about.

Sharing the state of concentration

If you activate a concentration mode, information about this fact can be displayed to the opposite parties in Messages. Thanks to this, users know that you have silenced notifications and therefore that you may not be able to respond immediately. Until now, it was possible to either turn off or turn on the sharing of the concentration state for all modes. In iOS 16 comes an improvement where users can finally choose which modes they want to (de)activate concentration sharing. Just go to Settings → Focus → Focus Status, where can you find this option.

Focus filters for applications

Focus was created so that users could primarily concentrate better on work, studies, etc. If you activate a focus mode, no one will disturb you, but you may still be distracted in some applications, which is of course a problem. That's why in iOS 16, Apple introduced focus filters, thanks to which content in applications can be adjusted so that there is no distraction. This means that, for example, only the selected calendar will be displayed in the Calendar, only selected panels in Safari, etc. To set it up, just go to Settings → Focus, where are you select mode and then dole in the category Focus mode filters click on Add focus mode filter, which one are you set up.

Mute or enable apps and contacts

In individual focus modes, you can set from the start which contacts can contact you and which apps will still be able to send you notifications. This means that you only set exceptions while all other contacts and applications are silenced. Anyway, in iOS 16, Apple added an option to "override" this feature, meaning that notifications from all contacts and apps will be allowed, with exceptions. To set this option, just go to Settings → Focus, where are you select mode and then go to Lide or Application. Then just choose either as needed Allow notifications, or Mute notifications.

Link to lock screen

Among other things, iOS 16 also includes a completely redesigned lock screen that users can customize in various ways. In addition to changing the colors and font of the time, they can also add widgets, in addition, it is possible to create several lock screens and switch between them. You can also set automatic switching of the lock screen after activating the selected concentration mode, which will result in a kind of "connection". To use it, you just need to moved to the lock screen, authorized themselves and then they held a finger on her which will bring you to the customization interface. Then you just find the selected lock screen, at the bottom tap on Focus mode and finally select a mode to connect.

Automatic watch face change

In addition to having your lock screen automatically change when you activate focus mode, you can also have your watch face automatically change on your Apple Watch. You just need to go to Settings → Focus, where you choose a mode, and then below in the category Screen customization click under Apple Watch on the button Choose.
