Virtually all operating systems from Apple have a special settings section called Accessibility. Within this section, there are several different functions, which have only one task - to simplify the system for users who are disadvantaged in a certain way so that they can use it without problems. Apple clearly relies on this and constantly offers new and new accessibility features, some of which even ordinary users can use. Let's take a look together in this article at 5 features that Apple added to Accessibility with the arrival of iOS 16.

Custom sounds for Sound Recognition

Accessibility includes, among other things, a feature that allows iPhone to recognize sounds. This will of course be appreciated by hard of hearing or completely deaf users. If the apple phone detects any of the selected sounds, it will let the user know about it using haptics and notification, which comes in handy. In iOS 16, users can even record their own sounds for recognition, specifically from the alarm, appliance and doorbell categories. To set it up, just go to Settings → Accessibility → Sound recognition, where the function activate. Then go to Sounds and tap on Custom alarm or below Own appliance or bell.

Remote control of Apple Watch and other devices

If you have ever found yourself in a situation where you would welcome the option to control the Apple Watch directly from the iPhone display, then look forward to iOS 16 - this system has added exactly this function. To turn on Apple Watch Mirroring on iPhone, go to Settings → Accessibility, where in the category Mobility and motor skills go to Apple Watch mirroring. It should be mentioned that this feature is available for Apple Watch Series 6 and later. In addition, we received the option for basic control of other devices, for example an iPad or another iPhone. You activate this again in Settings → Accessibility, where in the category Mobility and motor skills go to Control nearby devices.

Saving a preset in Lupa

Few people know that Magnifier has been part of iOS for a long time. And it's no wonder, because it's hidden - to run it or save it to your desktop, you have to search for it through Spotlight or the application library. As the name suggests, the Magnifier is used to zoom in using the camera. This application includes, among other things, options thanks to which you can customize the display - there is no lack of adjustment of brightness and contrast or the application of filters. The good news is that in iOS 16 you can save these set preferences so that you don't have to set them manually every time. To create a preset, go to the app She Wolf, where at the bottom left click on gear icon → Save as new activity. Then take your pick name and tap on All done. Click on gear is then possible from the displayed menu individually switch presets.

Adding an audiogram to Health

Human hearing is constantly developing, however, it is generally true that the older you are, the worse your hearing is. Unfortunately, some people have hearing problems much earlier, either because of a congenital hearing defect or, for example, because of working in an extremely noisy environment. However, those users with poorer sound can upload an audiogram to the iPhone, thanks to which the output can be modified to make it more audible - for more information, just open this article. iOS 16 added the option to add an audiogram to the Health app to track changes. To upload go to Health, where in Browsing open Hearing, then tap on Audiogram and finally on Add data at the top right.

Suspend Siri

Many users use the voice assistant Siri on a daily basis - and it's no wonder. Unfortunately, the apple assistant is still not available in Czech, so most users use it in English. While many individuals do not have a problem with English, there are also beginners who have to go slowly. With these users in mind, Apple added a feature in iOS 16 that allows Siri to pause for a certain amount of time after making a request, so you can prepare to hear the answer. This function can be set in Settings → Accessibility → Siri, where in the category Siri pause time select either as needed Slower or The slowest.
