One of the biggest innovations that Apple came up with in iOS 15 is undoubtedly the arrival of focus modes. These modes fully replaced the original concentration mode, which was very limited in terms of settings and often unusable. Focus modes, on the other hand, offer countless options for customization, with Apple of course constantly improving them. And it continues to improve with the recently introduced iOS 16. So let's take a look together in this article at 5 new features in focus modes that have been added.

Link to lock screen

As you probably know, in iOS 16 Apple focused most on the lock screen, which is redesigned. You can set several of them to your liking, there is also the option of changing the time style, adding widgets and more. In addition, it is possible to link the lock screen to the focus mode. This means that if you link like this and activate the focus mode, the selected lock screen will automatically be set. For settings hold your finger on the lock screen and then find in edit mode specific lock screen. Then just tap on below Focus mode a select eat it

Focus state sharing settings

If you have focus mode active and someone writes you a message in the native Messages app, they may see information that you have muted notifications. This is a very useful feature, and within iOS 16 you can specifically (de)activate it for each focus mode separately, and not just overall. For settings go to Settings → Focus → Focus status, where you can function in individual modes turn off or on.

Mute or enable people and apps

If you've set about creating a new focus mode in iOS so far, you've been able to set the allowed people and apps. These people and applications will therefore be able to write or call you or send you a notification when the focus mode is active. In iOS 16, however, this option has been expanded, with the fact that, on the contrary, you can set all people and applications as allowed and select only those who do not write back or allow you, or who will not be able to send you notifications. Just go to Settings → Focus, where are you select focus mode and at the top switch to Lide or Application. Then just choose as needed Mute notifications or Enable notifications and make additional changes.

Changing the dial

On one of the previous pages, we mentioned that you can link the lock screen with the focus mode for automatic settings after activation. However, the truth is that the dials can be set practically in the same way. So if you activate any focus mode, the watch face of your choice can change on Apple Watch. For settings go to Settings → Focus, where select focus mode. Then go down to Screen customization and under Apple Watch, tap Choose, take your pick dial and tap on Done at the top right. The home screen and lock screen can also be set here.

Filters in applications

One of the other new features added in iOS 16 includes focus filters. Specifically, these filters can adjust the content of some applications after activating concentration so that you are not disturbed and distracted while working. Specifically, it is possible, for example, to display messages only with selected contacts, to display only selected calendars in the Calendar, etc. Of course, the filters will gradually grow, especially after the official release of iOS 16 to the public, including third-party applications. To set the filters, just go to Settings → Focus, where select focus mode. Here then scroll down and in the category Focus mode filters click on Add focus mode filter, where are you now? set up.
