If we go back in time a few years and look at the native Weather in iOS, it turns out to be a practically uninteresting and useless application that rather takes up storage space. In the past, if you wanted to get accurate and more comprehensive information about the weather, you simply had to reach for a third-party application. However, this is no longer the case, as Weather has recently undergone an interesting redesign, thanks to, among other things, the acquisition of Dark Sky by Apple two years ago. In iOS 16, the Weather app comes with several other news and features that are worth it - and we'll look at 5 of them in this article.

Detailed data and graphs

The Weather app in iOS 16 includes a new section where you can view the most detailed information about the weather in a selected location through various graphs and data. Thanks to this, you no longer need to download any complex third-party applications to display proper weather data. To display detailed data and graphs Weather open, then go to specific place and then tap with your finger hourly or ten-day forecast. This will open the interface, allowing you to switch between individual graphs icon with an arrow in the right part of the display.

Detailed 10 day forecast

After opening the Weather application, you can immediately view some basic information, mainly warnings and hourly forecasts, along with a quick ten-day forecast. However, if, for example, you are going on a trip of several days, then you could definitely be interested in how you can display detailed information about the weather in the form of graphs, etc. for all 10 days ahead. It is nothing complicated, again just v Weather open specific place and then tap on hourly or a ten-day forecast. Above is enough open a specific day in the calendar, and then by tapping on an arrow in the right part of the display to move to a specific section.

Alerts for weather warnings

You must have noticed that the CHMÚ issues a weather warning from time to time. This happens when the weather is extreme in some way - it can be heavy rains, strong thunderstorms, extreme heat, the threat of floods or fires and much more. These warnings are already classically displayed in Weather, but you can also set up notifications about these warnings. You can achieve this by Weather tap on the bottom right menu icon, then on three dots icon in the top right and finally in the menu on Notification. To activate weather alert notifications on activate Extreme Weather in your current location, to activate on a specific place ho open below, and then activate Extreme Weather.

Display all valid alerts

As I mentioned on the previous page, Weather can inform about valid weather warnings. But the truth is that you will always only see the last issued warning, which is a problem in its own way, because it happens that several of them can be announced. Fortunately, you can view all valid weather warnings at once after a bunch. It is nothing complicated, just v Weather open specific place and then tap on the current alert under Extreme Weather. This will open it web, where possible view all alerts, along with all details.

Quick text information

From time to time you may find yourself in a situation where you simply don't want to unnecessarily study the weather charts and find out how it will actually be. Precisely for these cases, quick text information about the weather is also available, that is, about individual sections with information that Weather can display. You just need to go to Weather, where you open specific place and then tap the s tile hourly or ten-day forecast. Now with help arrows with an icon in the right part of the display move to required section. All the way down in the section Daily summary you will then be shown quick information about the weather in text form, which summarizes everything.
