With another day, it's another installment in our series, where we look at the best Mac games from every genre and offer an overview of great titles to keep you entertained during the endless lockdown and take your mind off it a bit. While in the previous days we went through adventure games, action games and isometric titles, now we bring you a look at 5 strategies where your tactical skills will be fully expressed and refined. Although it might seem that this is the same as in the case of isometric games, it is not. Instead of just a group of heroes, you will be in charge of entire armies and it will be up to you how you deal with unexpected situations. So let's get to it.

Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty

Who does not know the legendary Starcraft, a space real-time strategy where alien invaders will constantly try to conquer you. There is probably no need to introduce the game in too much detail, and fans will surely agree that every real player has already encountered this saga, but if you have missed this gem so far, we definitely recommend giving it a chance. You'll get up to three playable factions - Terrans, Zergs and Protoss - and you'll enjoy a fairly long campaign that introduces you to all the elements. It's not for nothing that Starcraft is said to be a demanding pastime, and this is doubly true in multiplayer. So aim for official site and try the game for free.

Into the Breach

Tower defense games, where you protect your territory and buildings from enemy raids and try to build additional lines of defense, have gone out of fashion some time ago and have been replaced by more sophisticated titles, but that doesn't mean that you can't have a good start from this genre once in a while discover. Into the Breach is a shining example that even today these games have their place and can offer strategic gameplay combined with diverse locations and original game mechanics. Of course, there is an isometric view of the game area and the construction of various shooting ranges and buildings that you will have to protect from opponents. So if you don't mind the retro approach of the developers and outdated but still catchy gameplay, head over to Steam and get the game for $15.

Total War: Three Kingdoms

There are never enough quality strategies that will last you tens and hundreds of hours. And in the case of the legendary Total War saga, this statement is doubly true. The latest addition, Total War: Three Kingdoms, also offers a rather unconventional setting, which many fans will surely appreciate. We will take a look at ancient China and play as up to 12 different warlords. During the campaign, of course, you will also meet the Chinese legends of the time, who made history, and it will be up to you what kind of relationships you form with them. Otherwise, the game is not too different from its older brothers, which built on similar game mechanics. There are plenty of ways to achieve your goals and an abundance of modes. So you definitely don't have to worry about entertainment. The title will cost you Steam for $60, but it is still a solid experience, for which you will need macOS 10.14.4, Intel Core i5 2GHz, 8GB of RAM and an Nvidia 680MX or AMD R9 M290 graphics card with a capacity of 2GB.

Divinity: Original Sin 2

If you have a weakness for quality devil games, but instead of endless butchery, focus more on quality story and strategy, Divinity: Original Sin 2 is exactly for you. Studio Larian served players a wonderful fantasy world, where you will find not only bitter fights and hordes of enemies in the style of Diablo, but also a diverse environment, the opportunity to interact with all non-player characters and participate in the very development of the surrounding environment. Every decision you make will affect the world in some way and it will be up to you how you behave during the story. There are up to 200 abilities, a slower combat system and even multiplayer where you can invite your friend to battle. So if you're interested in this icon of the genre, for $45 on Steam it can be yours. The only prerequisite is macOS 10.13.6, Intel Core i5, 8GB RAM and Intel HD Graphics 5000 or Radeon R9 M290X.

Civilization VI

Here we have another legendary title, this time from the Civilization series. In addition to the classic strategic gameplay that you know from the previous installments, you can also look forward to collecting raw materials, building your own cities and, above all, managing large states, which you will gradually conquer with a little luck. And to make matters worse, there will also be some intrigues and politicking, without which the government would simply be boring. And if you happen to get tired of the campaign against artificial intelligence, you can cut a game in multiplayer and test your strength against friends or random online players. We just recommend that you watch out for bluffing and tactics, which will certainly not be lacking. So if you have a weakness for quality strategy games and you are not afraid of some pressure, aim for Steam and get the game for 49.99 euros. All you need is Windows 7, an Intel Core i3 clocked at 2.5 GHz or an AMD Phenom II clocked at 2.6 GHz, 4GB of RAM and a basic graphics card with at least 1GB of memory that supports DirectX.
