In the new iOS 16, Apple came up with a completely redesigned lock screen. With this change comes an extensive option for creating and editing different lock screens, where it is specifically possible to change the style of the time, use special dynamic wallpapers, add widgets and much more. Users have more or less loved the new lock screen, and if you want to make the most of it, this article will come in handy. In it, we look at 5 features from the lock screen in iOS 16 that you should know about.

Using filters for photos

When creating a new lock screen, the first step is to choose a wallpaper. There are several styles to choose from, from dynamic weather and astronomy wallpapers, through collections or wallpapers with emoticons or transitions, to classic photos. If you decide to use a photo, you should know that you can choose different filters for it. You can achieve this by interface to create a new lock screen with a photo you simply will swipe from left to right and vice versa. You can use studio, black and white, colored background, duotone and blurred colors filters. For some filters, it is also possible to select additional presets by clicking on the three dots icon at the bottom right.

Remove the lock screen

You can create several lock screens in the new iOS 16 and then switch between them as needed. You can have many lock screens created for every situation, or time of day. Gradually, however, you may find yourself in a situation where you find that you do not use a certain lock screen, or that you do not like it. The solution is, of course, to remove the lock screen, but what if that option is nowhere to be found? It's nothing complicated and you just need to swipe up from the bottom of the lock screen to remove.

Linking with Focus

As I mentioned on the previous page, you can manually switch between individual lock screens. But the good news is that you can also link your lock screens to specific focus modes. If you make the connection, after activating the selected focus mode, the selected lock screen will be automatically set. This can be useful, for example, in sleep mode, with which you can set a dark lock screen, but of course also in other situations. To connect with hold move to lock screen edit mode, where are you subsequently find the specific lock screen. Then click the button at the bottom focus mode, which then tap to select.

Clock style from older iOS versions

You can also change the clock style on the lock screen in the new iOS 16. By default, a bold clock is selected, which simply does not suit many users, as they are used to the original ones. If you would like to change the style of the clock, for example to the one from older versions of iOS, then of course you can. Just hold down to move to the lock screen editing mode, where you can then find the specific lock screen and tap at the bottom Adapt. Then tap into the clock space, where you can then choose theirs in the bottom menu style by clicking to select. Specifically, the clock style from older iOS versions is second from the left in the first row.

View notifications from older iOS versions

You may have already noticed after using iOS 16 for a short time that there has been a change in the way notifications are displayed. Newly, by default, notifications specifically appear in a stack, that is, in a set, which is located at the bottom of the screen. However, this did not suit many users at all, fortunately, Apple offers a choice, and dissatisfied apple users can have notifications displayed in the classic list. To set it up, just go to Settings → Notifications, where at the top by tapping activate List. However, it must be mentioned that notifications will continue to be sorted from bottom to top, and not from top to bottom, as was the custom in older versions of iOS - and unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it.
