Tom (Liam Neeson) is an infamous thief, but the feelings he has for his new love Annie (Kate Walsh) will make him right his old sins. He wants to stop living as a criminal and, above all, he doesn't want to base his relationship with Annie on lies. He decides to confess directly to the FBI and turn over the money he stole to the state in exchange for a deal and a clean criminal record. When he calls the local FBI office to confess and set up a meeting, agents Baker (Robert Patrick) and Meyers (Jeffrey Donovan) think it's just a prank. They send their subordinates, agents Nivens (Jai Courtney) and Hall (Anthony Ramos) in their place. The two younger agents are shocked to discover that Tom is a real bank robber. She sees his stolen money as a ticket to a better life. Thus begins a game of cat and mouse in which good and evil become entangled.

The investigation leads him to a concern that produces replicants. Here he meets the beautiful Rachael, although she is not a real person, she herself is completely convinced of her humanity.
