Owners of iPhones and iPads have the Safari web browser installed on their devices by default, but many people prefer Google's Chrome. In today's article, we will bring you some tips that will make working in Chrome on iOS a little more pleasant and efficient for you.

Synchronization with other devices

If you use the Chrome browser under your Google account on multiple devices, you can activate synchronization, thanks to which you can continue viewing pages on your iPhone that you opened on, for example, your Mac. On your iPhone, launch the Chrome browser and tap the three dots in the lower-right corner, then tap Settings. At the top of the screen, tap Sync & Google services and enable Sync Chrome data.

Card management

You have many options for managing and organizing your tabs in Chrome on your iPhone. If synchronization is activated, you can also view the tabs you have open on other devices. You can switch to the overview of all open cards by clicking on the card icon with the number on the bottom right. In this preview, you can close any of the tabs by clicking on the cross at the top right, close all tabs at once by clicking Close all at the bottom left. Open a new page by clicking on the “+” in the middle of the bottom bar.

Site translation

The Chrome internet browser also allows you (not only) to easily translate web pages on the iPhone. Of course, it won't be a perfect, precise translation, but this function will definitely help you orient yourself at least a little on pages that are written in a language that you may not understand very well. To translate a website in the Chrome browser on the iPhone, click on the three dots icon in the lower right corner and scroll to the Translate item in the menu. After translation, a translation icon will appear on the left side of the address bar, after clicking on it you will get additional options.

Chrome as default browser

If Chrome is practically the only browser you use on your iPhone, you'll certainly welcome the option to set it as the default. However, this option only exists on iOS and iPadOS devices running iOS 14 or iPadOS 14. To set Chrome as the default browser on your iPhone, open Settings and find Chrome. Tap on it, and then in the settings tab, select the item Default browser - here you just need to change the default browser to Google Chrome.
