Apple offers countless native applications in its portfolio. These include, for example, the native Mail client, the Safari web browser, or perhaps an application for managing calendars. However, many users tend to despise the native calendar due to the lack of many functions and prefer to choose another alternative. In today's article, we will look at several applications that surpass the native calendar in some ways.

Google Calendar

If you regularly use Google services such as Gmail, YouTube or Google Maps, you will surely have noticed the "Google" calendar. In addition to a clear interface, the ability to manage calendars from virtually all providers you can think of, or save reminders, it boasts, for example, that it tracks restaurant table reservations or plane tickets and automatically creates events based on the data. The calendar from Google is definitely one of the more advanced ones and we cannot help but recommend it.

Microsoft Outlook

Most people think of Outlook as a solid email client that boasts support for almost all platforms. However, you can also use a simple calendar in Outlook, which offers many functions despite its minimalist appearance. An added benefit is that if someone sends you an invitation to an event by email, you can respond without opening the message. Another benefit of Outlook is its availability on the Apple Watch - so you can access information whenever you remember. So, if you do not want the most advanced calendar functions, but at the same time you are comfortable with having mail and calendar in one application, Outlook is the right choice for you.

Moleskine Journey

This application is such a diary for almost all occasions. You can manage notes, reminders and calendars, which are clearly divided, in a minimalist but pleasant jacket. Although the application is free, in order for it to work "correctly" and meet all requirements, you need to activate a subscription. You can choose from several tariffs.

Fantastical

If you are looking for a simple looking calendar with many features, Fantastical is the right app for you. It can create events with labels, add tasks, easily insert links to video conferencing tools via Google Meet, Microsoft Teams or Zoom, and much more. Apple Watch owners will certainly be pleased to know that Fantastical is available for them as well. The application is available for free, but you can also subscribe to it for 139 CZK per month or 1150 CZK per year.
