WWDC21 starts already on Monday, June 7, and Apple will present new operating systems. Except for all the improvements that come rather in the background and the user doesn't actually notice them, they always contain some news that in a certain way advances its use on the given products. While iPhones can really do a lot, these 4 features I want from iOS 15 just can't be done yet.

Sound manager

My most pressing pain may seem like a completely ordinary and insignificant thing. But you know that iOS has different volume levels in different environments. One is for ringtones and alarm, another for apps and games (even videos), another for speaker level, etc. While I'm not a developer, I believe it would be really simple to add to Settings and offers Sounds and haptics an option where you could set this level manually, differently for each use.

Better use of keyboard space

At the time of the introduction of the iPhone 6 Plus, Apple gave it a landscape interface and an extended keyboard that included additional options for pasting and copying. I've never used it because I've never used a phone to work in a landscape environment. But now we have iPhones without a home button, with a display that stretches from top to bottom and a keyboard that is a punishable waste of space.

Copying, pasting and other actions are performed by holding your finger on the text for a long time. But wouldn't it be enough to hover over a word using the Force Touch gesture, select it like this and select the desired action below the keyboard? Now there is only an emoticon symbol and nothing else. So there is a lot of space here and it has no use. It would certainly be a small step for Apple, but a giant leap at least for my satisfaction. And a normal mortal wouldn't have to scramble to get his thumb into one of the upper corners of the display.

Active widgets

Do you use widgets? There was much fanfare when iOS 14 brought them. But in the case of their use, one cannot talk too much about great fame. They are not active. Because they only contain information, after selecting which you are redirected to the given application, and that extinguishes it. But if they were active, it would be a different story. For example, you could have your favorite contact on your desktop and communicate with them via iMessage directly from the widget, without having to open the Messages app. In Calendar, you could switch between days and see scheduled events straight away without having to open the app, etc.

Always On

Apple Watch can already do it, why shouldn't iPhones do it too? Especially with OLED displays? To find out the time, you need to tap your iPhone, to find out missed events, you need to tap your iPhone. It would be nice to copy the Android feature in this regard, which has had it for several years. Even when locked, the display would show the current time, current date and, with simple icons, even missed events. If you could then determine which ones you want to display and which ones you don't, it would be even better.

Check out what iOS 15 could look like in this cool concept:

These wishes are modest and certainly achievable. The widgets have the best chance, and in the best case, the Always On display, although it is a question of whether Apple will introduce it with the iPhone 13, for which it will be exclusive. Paradoxically, I would most like to see the sound manager and a better keyboard layout. And what is missing in iOS that you would like Apple to fix with iOS 15? Tell us in the comments.
