Apple is known not only for its iconic design, but also for its various controversial steps, which at first glance may seem ridiculous, impractical, or even restrictive for users. It also usually earns the appropriate derision from its competition. But it regularly happens that she copies his steps anyway sooner or later.

And it makes a fool out of itself, one would like to add. Mainly Samsung, but also Google and other manufacturers have finally gone their own way, so it's nice to see that the design is not copied to the letter, as was the case in the early days of modern smartphones. However, that doesn't mean they don't still copy Apple's various moves. And we don't even have to go very far.

Missing adapter in the package

When Apple introduced the iPhone 12, it didn't really matter what they looked like or what they could actually do. Other manufacturers focused on one fact that the iPhone did not have, and their devices did - the power adapter in the package. Until last year, it was unthinkable to buy an electronic device that didn't come with a mains adapter to charge it. Only Apple took this bold step. The manufacturers laughed at him for it, and the customers, on the contrary, cursed him.

But not too much time passed and the manufacturers themselves understood that this is really a way to save a lot of money. Gradually, they also began to lean towards Apple's strategy, and finally removed the adapters from the packaging of certain models.

3,5mm jack connector

It was 2016 and Apple removed the 7mm jack from its iPhone 7 and 3,5 Plus. And he captured it well. Even if users attached a reduction from the 3,5 mm jack connector to Lightning, many simply did not like it. But Apple's strategy was clear – pushing users into AirPods, saving valuable space inside the device and increasing water resistance.

Other manufacturers resisted for a while, even the presence of a 3,5 mm jack connector became a mentioned advantage for many. However, sooner or later others also understood that this connector no longer has much to do in a modern smartphone. In addition, most of the big players also started to offer their variants of TWS headphones, so this was another potential for good sales. Nowadays, you can still find a 3,5 mm jack connector in some devices, but usually these are models from lower classes.

AirPods

Now that we've already taken a bite out of Apple's TWS headphones, it's appropriate to analyze this case more. The first AirPods were introduced in 2016 and were almost immediately met with derision rather than success. They've been compared to ear cleaning sticks, with many calling them just EarPods without the cable. But the company practically founded a new segment with them, so success and appropriate copying naturally followed. The original design of AirPods was literally copied by every other Chinese No Name brand, but even the bigger ones (such as Xiaomi) with decent modifications. We now know that this look is literally iconic, and Apple is ultimately doing very well in terms of sales of its entire line of headphones.

Bonus – Cleaning cloth

The whole world and the big mobile players mocked Apple for starting to sell a cleaning cloth that costs CZK 590 in our country. Yes, it is not much, but the price is justified, because this cloth is intended for cleaning especially Pro Display XDR displays worth more than 130 thousand CZK. In addition, it is currently completely sold out, as the Apple Online Store shows deliveries in 8 to 10 weeks.

In this regard, Samsung joked at Apple's expense by giving away its polishing cloths to customers for free. A Dutch blog reported about it Galaxy Club, which states that customers received free Samsung cloths when they purchased a Galaxy A52s, Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Flip 3, or Galaxy Z Fold 3. If nothing else, at least Apple helped new Samsung owners get useful accessories for their devices for free.
