The latest information from the supply chains talks about the imminent arrival of the new 16" MacBook Pro. However, abrupt design changes will not take place.

The supply chain provided the information to DigiTimes. He now claims that the 16" MacBook Pro is already in production and we will see it at the end of October. It is necessary to approach information from this source with a certain amount of distance, as its sources are quite often confused.

On the other hand, similar information appeared on multiple servers. The common claim is that Quanta Computer has already started shipping the first MacBook Pro 16". The laptops are very similar to the current 15" models. However, the screen has very narrow frameand thanks to this, Apple was able to fit a slightly larger diagonal into the same size.

The computers will reportedly be equipped with the latest generation of Intel Core processors of the Ice Lake series. This does not sound very plausible, as Intel has not yet introduced suitable variants of these processors for more powerful computers. We only have ULV variants on the market, which are underclocked and rely on low consumption.

It seems far more likely using Coffee Lake processors, which are in current MacBook Pros.

October keynote or press release?

Very happy news should be the return from the problematic and controversial butterfly keyboard to the traditional scissor mechanism. Recently leaked the icons even suggest, that the new keyboard might not even have a Touch Bar.

The screen resolution rises to 3 x 072 pixels. Although it is still not a full-fledged 1K (Ultra HD) resolution, the delicacy of the Retina display will still be preserved.

The first mentions of the 16" MacBook Pro came from renowned analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Later, piecemeal information appeared from other sources. Finally, Apple itself revealed everything when it placed the icons of the new computers in the system folders of the macOS 10.15.1 Catalina beta version.

Now it just depends on when and how Apple will introduce the new computer. It could theoretically happen that no Keynote will be held in October and the computer will only be announced through a press release. We will probably see soon.
