On the occasion of the second autumn Apple Event, we saw the presentation of the long-awaited 16″ MacBook Pro. It brings a slightly modified design, functional keys instead of a Touch Bar, a significantly better display and literally brutal performance thanks to the M1 Pro or M1 Max chip. According to Apple, it should be the best professional laptop, but it is also energy efficient. But how does this beast fare in terms of price?
- 16″ MacBook Pro with M1 Pro chip with 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory and 512GB of storage launches at 72 990 $
- 16″ MacBook pro with M1 Pro chip with 10-core CPU, 16-core GPU, 16GB of unified memory and 1TB of storage comes out at 78 990 $
- 16″ MacBook Pro with M1 Max chip with 10-core CPU, 32-core GPU, 32GB of unified memory and 1TB of storage comes out at 102 990 $
The variants described above refer to the so-called main models. In any case, you can pay extra in the configurator for those for a more powerful chip (does not apply to the top variant, which already offers the best chip in the base), larger storage or higher unified memory. Overall, the price for the definitively best 16″ MacBook Pro can climb to CZK 180. In any case, you can pre-order the new laptops now, and they will arrive on the shelves of retailers next week.
- Newly introduced Apple products can be purchased, for example, at Alge, Mobile Emergency or u iStores
I think I already found out somewhere, but who am I giving 20 thousand crowns just like that? $2499 is definitely not CZK 72990 🤷♂️ Apple has been really smart this time, so all you have to do is buy plane tickets to NYC for 8k, a decent hotel for the weekend for ten and I have a new Macbook next week 🙌
$2499 is the price without tax, in NYC I think it is 8.875%, so something around $2720 = CZK 60. It's still cheaper, but it's not worth it anymore. But on the other hand, a ticket to the US is included in the price if you avoid customs.
In the world the tax is around 24%, which is 10000 extra.
