Improved call interface

iOS 17 lets you customize how you appear to other people when you call in the native Phone app. You can set a so-called contact poster, edit the name, font and much more. You can also set a contact poster for other users.

Search filters in Messages

In native Messages, you can now search using so-called filters. The search works on a similar principle as, for example, in native Photos, where you can quickly and easily enter parameters such as the sender or whether the message contains a link or media content.

Status check

A useful feature called Status Check has been added to native Messages. If you go to messages and click + in the section for writing a message, a menu will appear, in which you only need to select the Status check item and enter everything necessary. Thanks to this function, your selected contacts will know if you have arrived at the location safely.

Messages in FaceTime

You can now leave an audio or video message to selected contacts within FaceTime. You will have the same effects available during a FaceTime video call. Messages will also be able to be played on the Apple Watch.

Standby mode

Another significant innovation in the iOS 17 operating system is the Standby mode. When your iPhone is connected to power, still and turned to landscape, you'll see things like photos, various data, or smart widget sets on its locked screen.

Interactive widgets

Until now, widgets on the iPhone's desktop and lock screen were only for informational purposes, and tapping on them took you directly to the app in question. But with the arrival of the iOS 17 operating system comes a wonderful change in the form of interactive widgets that will be available on the desktop, lock screen and in Standby mode.

NameDrop and AirDrop

Sharing contacts has never been easier. Thanks to a newly introduced feature called NameDrop in iOS 17, all you have to do is hold your iPhone next to another iPhone or Apple Watch, and both parties will be able to select specific contacts, including email addresses, that they want to share. To share via AirDrop, it is also enough to hold both devices close to each other.

Journal application

Later this year, the iOS 17 operating system will also include a brand new native Journal application, which will offer users the ability to take stunning journal entries, including adding photos and other content from the iPhone.

Lock anonymous panels in Safari

The iOS 17 operating system will also include a new and very useful function in the Safari web browser. Panels for anonymous browsing will now be automatically locked with the help of biometric data, i.e. either Face ID or possibly Touch ID.

Inserting codes from Mail

The Safari web browser will offer an even better connection with native Mail in the iOS 17 operating system. If you want to log in to an account in Safari that will require verification via a one-time code, and this code arrives in your inbox in native Mail, it will be automatically inserted into the appropriate field without having to leave the browser.
