TV+ offers original comedies, dramas, thrillers, documentaries and children's shows. However, unlike most other streaming services, the service no longer contains any additional catalog beyond its own creations. Other titles are available for purchase or rental here. In this article, we'll take a look at what's new in the service as of 30/7/2021, which is mainly about details about the upcoming sci-fi saga Foundation.

The story around the Foundation

Foundation is a series adaptation of Isaac Asimov's science fiction book trilogy. David S. Goyer spoke to the magazine about how this complex work was conceived by the creator of the treatment The Hollywood Reporter. In particular, he had to deal with three complex aspects that the work itself offers. The first is that the story spans 1 years and contains many time jumps. This is also why the decision was made to make a series and not just, for example, three films. The second aspect is that the books are anthological in a way. In the first book, there are a few short stories with the main character Salvor Hardin, then you jump ahead a hundred years and everything revolves around another character again.

The third thing is that books are more about ideas than describing them literally. A large part of the action therefore takes place so-called "off-screen". This is also because the Empire controls 10 worlds and its stories are told between chapters. And this wouldn't really work for TV. So he devised a way to prolong the lives of certain characters so that the audience would meet them in every season, in every century. This will make the story not only ongoing but also anthological.

Apple also asked Goyer to summarize the entire work in one sentence. He replied: "It's a chess game set 1000 years between Hari Seldon and the Empire, with all the characters between them being pawns, but even some of the pawns end up as kings and queens in the course of this saga." Goyer revealed that the original plan was to film 8 seasons of ten hour-long episodes. The premiere is scheduled for September 24, 2021, and it is already clear that it will be a great spectacle.

For All Mankind and Season 4

While the sci-fi series Foundation is still waiting for its premiere, the previous sci-fi series For All Mankind already has two series. It discusses what might have happened if the United States and the Soviet Union had not won the space race. The third series is currently being filmed, during which was confirmed, that the fourth will come after her. However, the third season is not expected to premiere until mid-2022, which means that the fourth season will not arrive until 2023. Each series covers a ten-year period, so the fourth season should end in 2010. The first two revolve around the conquest of the moon, the third is already heading for Mars. What the fourth will offer is of course in the stars, literally.

The Morning Show and the lawsuit

The production company behind The Morning Show is suing an insurance company for $44 million after the insurer failed to pay for production delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The filming of the second season of The Morning Show was suspended when there were only 13 days left until the start of its filming. The entire machinery in motion had to be stopped, which resulted in significant losses for the companies. Although Always Smiling Productions has already taken out approximately $125 million in insurance to cover the cast and studio rent, the lawsuit, which he reported The Hollywood Reporter, is suing Chubb National Insurance Company for at least $44 million in additional costs.

Of course, the defendant company defends itself by the fact that the contract states to reimburse the performance in the event of death, injury, illness, kidnapping or physical danger. None of this is said to match what actually caused the delay. But the plaintiff does not have very bright prospects. As shown by COVID Coverage Litigation Tracker, so since March 2020 there have been almost 2 lawsuits against insurers in the US regarding the pandemic. Of the 000 cases that went to federal court, 371% were ultimately dismissed.
