Apple is preparing the premiere of a documentary about the tennis legend, a series about platonic friends and is waiting for the BAFTA awards.

Boris Becker against the rest of the world

On April 7th, Apple TV+ is scheduled to premiere, revealing the controversial life and career of tennis legend Boris Becker, complete with interviews with John McEnroe, Novak Djoković, Björn Borg and other icons of the sport. Boris Becker is a former professional German tennis player, Olympic champion in doubles from the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona and three-time champion in singles at the world's most famous tournament in Wimbledon, where he became the youngest winner in its history in 1985. Apple also released the first trailer.

Platonic

The 10-episode comedy series Platonic will premiere on the platform on May 24, starring Physical's Rose Byrne and popular Seth Rogen. Each episode will be around half an hour long and the first three episodes will be released on the day of the premiere, the others will be released a bit unconventionally every Wednesday. The story tells about a pair of platonic friends who reunite after a long mutual rift, which, by the way, destabilizes their lives in a completely unexpected but amusing way.

15 British BAFTA nominations

The Apple TV+ production has a chance to win another fifteen important awards, this time the British BAFTA. Among the nominees are Slow Horses (5 nominations), Bad Sisters (5 nominations), Heron (1 nomination), Pachinko (1 nomination) or The Essex Monster (3 nominations). Among the main actors, not only Gary Oldman, but also Taron Egerton has a nomination. The Bafta Television Craft Awards will be announced on 23 April 2023. This year's 15 nominations puts Apple TV+ in fifth place behind the BBC, Channel 4, Netflix and ITV. Sky TV received 14 nominations, while Disney+ scored just 8 nominations.
