The long-awaited sequel to the racing series Real Racing 3 has arrived on the App Store. With each new work comes greater and greater expectations. Will the third installment manage to continue the successful series, or will it be a disappointment?
The first big surprise is the price. Real Racing has always been paid, but now it comes with a freemium model. The game is free, but you have to pay for some things in the game you can pay extra.
When you start the game for the first time, you will play a tutorial. You will learn to turn and brake in a racing Porsche. However, there will be no need to brake, all assistance services are activated and will do it for you. Even if the tutorial is about nothing and just a boring necessity for hardcore players, it will introduce you to the game and entice you to keep playing. The sounds of roaring engines, well-developed graphics of cars and tracks and, as a bonus, pleasant music in the background.
After the initial excitement comes the choice of the first car and the career begins. You can choose either the Nissan Silvia or the Ford Focus RS. You don't have the money for the next one yet, which of course you earn by racing. In total, the game offers 46 cars - from classic road cars to racing specials, which you will be able to buy along the way. And don't forget, if you didn't like the controls during the tutorial, you can change them in the menu. There is a large number of controls to choose from - from the arrows to the accelerometer to the steering wheel.
And you can race! Just a moment after the start, you realize that the assistance services for steering, traction control and brakes are switched on. I recommend turning off at least the steering and brake assistant, otherwise the steering, and thus the whole game, won't be as much fun. After turning off the assistants and continuing on the track, there is a high probability that you will not brake properly in the next corner and you will have your first collision. You say to yourself: "It's okay, I'll catch up". You will catch up and probably win. However, the blow will come after the end of the race - you will have to repair the car. So every mistake costs something. And not only that, Real Racing 3 wants to create the atmosphere of real races, so in addition to cosmetic repairs, you also have to take care of oil, engine, brakes, shock absorbers and tires.
The developers originally set up the game so that you have to pay and wait for each patch. Or pay with In-App purchases for gold coins. This brought a huge wave of protests and now, with the official launch worldwide, the game has already been updated. If you crash during the race, you just pay and the car is fixed right away. In previous versions it was expected. Now you will wait "only" for repairs (engine, oil refill...) and also for improvements. These aren't mind-blowing times (5-15 minutes), but if you do multiple fixes, they add up. However, once in a while it can be survived. I think this move saved Real Racing 3. After all, no one would want to wait for every scratch on the car to be repaired. Of course, you can buy gold coins and fix the car immediately, but In-App purchases are not very popular with players.
[do action=”quote”]Real Racing 3 is indeed a legitimate continuation of this game series. The developers have worked really hard and the result is one of the best racing games on the App Store.[/do]
As you progress through the game, additional tracks and game modes are unlocked. There are a large number of tracks and, in addition to being detailed, they are also realistic. For example, you race at Silverstone, Hockenheimring or Indianapolis. There are also several game modes. Classic races, one against one, drag race (known for example from the PC classic Need For Speed), maximum speed at one point of the track, elimination and others.
However, the new game mode is multiplayer. Rather, it is a new multiplayer game mode as such. The developers called him Time Shifted Multiplayer. It is actually an online game where both players do not have to be present at the same online. The race is recorded and you only compete against your friend's identical replacement. It's really brilliantly thought out, because the biggest problem with online gaming is agreeing on a time to play together. This way, you can race one day and your friend can race the next day - as it suits him. Game Center and Facebook are supported.
I had two concerns before playing Real Racing 3. The first was that the game experience would not be ideal on older devices. The opposite is true, the new Real Racing plays very well even on iPad 2 and iPad mini. The second concern was the freemium model, which has destroyed more than one game gem. This will not be the case. The developers intervened in time and slightly modified the model (see waiting times). Even without money, the game can be played very well, without major restrictions.
The game tries to be a racing simulator, and it still succeeds. The cars behave realistically on the track – there is less gas response when you press the pedal, the brakes won't stop the car in two meters, and if you overdo it with the gas in a corner, you will find yourself far behind the track. When competing with other players, you can beat up the car, but here the cars seem a bit more solid than in reality. The authentic sounds of engines and screeching tires will add to the adrenaline while driving, all accompanied by a pleasant soundtrack.
The game saves progress in iCloud, so there should be no loss of saved positions. The game is free, universal for both iPhone and iPad, but the big drawback is its size - almost 2 GB. And the only reason not to try the game is probably that there is not enough space on your iOS device.

I've been playing it since February 16.2. (I know it was released on 28.2.), I have 6 cars and I would give it 2,5 stars.. Physics is good, car fleet too, mirrors work - all this is a plus. But there is no multiplayer either, except in the name of something they call time-shifted multiplayer, but I wouldn't really call that multiplayer. The absence of replay also freezes. The second one was better in my opinion, it's a pity that there was only one top car without competition (respectively 2 – one for the lower class and McLaren for the higher class). I didn't read the article.
“I did not read the article.”…. Wow ok…?
If I don't read something, I don't comment on it... That way you save yourself from being a fool.
When I started the game, I didn't know for a while if it was a pre-rendered video or if I was already running a fix. Imagination. Perfect behavior, GUI, sounds and music. I like the distribution system as FREE plus if you want to upgrade faster buy it for CASH.
Only TV out via Airplay does not use the entire HD screen (the duo could do it)
Can the cars I bought also be sold? So I can't find it, so if I want to play another series of races with new cars, I'm short of money, so another option to take money from us... I'd rather pay 10 euros and then enjoy the game properly than this
Cars cannot be sold. But I don't mind at all. I haven't even put a dime into it yet and I already have 6 cars in the first two days of playing it alternately. One complete "event" done and about 5 more "events" played.
I really appreciate the possibility of driving with one car and having other cars in the service or being "upgraded" at the moment. The waiting periods and the money spent will be fine with a car(s) that are in good condition. So the game has decent momentum even at this stage. As soon as I arrive, I have another car fixed and the current one back to service. :-)))
Graphics in the rear-view mirror crumble on the horizon. Sometimes some cars in front of me have their bumpers not drawn even at a relatively short distance, but it is always fixed immediately. These are the little things that I don't notice much. The opponents are relatively difficult, and I feel a little sad that I always start last in the peloton. When there are 22 or more cars, it's pretty certain that before I break into the top five, for example, my car is pretty beat up. :-))) Otherwise, I recommend turning off all assistants. It limits it, and the chances of winning, or at least placing yourself on the podium under the assistants, are significantly low. RR2 is played in its entirety, but in a relatively short time. I see here that it will be a much longer game, and that's a good thing!
This game is definitely the best racing game on iOS. The graphics are excellent, the only thing that can be criticized is that even the iPhone 5 has a low resolution for such great graphics (you can see the cracks in the cars as lines of pixels). Otherwise, I would criticize the game that when I'm not online, I still have names from TSM in the competitors as if I was online, it's confusing. I also regret not buying any Ferraris. But these are just details and as it was written in the article - only a small amount of space can prevent you from downloading :)
