It was January 9, 2007, and the traditional Macworld technology exhibition was taking place in San Francisco. At that time, Apple also participated as the main protagonist, and CEO Steve Jobs presented the latest products. The most important thing then came at 9 hours 42 minutes. "Once in a while a revolutionary product comes along that changes everything," said Steve Jobs. And he showed the iPhone.

In the now-legendary keynote from the mentioned Macworld, Steve Jobs presented the Apple phone as a combination of three products that were usually separate at that time - "iPod with touch control and wide-angle screen, a revolutionary mobile phone and a breakthrough Internet communicator".

Jobs was right even then. The iPhone truly became a revolutionary device that changed the world virtually overnight. And not only the one with mobile phones, but over time the lives of each of us. The iPhone (or any other smartphone, which the iPhone laid the foundation for at the time) is now an almost integral part of our lives, without which many people cannot even imagine functioning.

The numbers also speak clearly. During those ten years (the first iPhone reached end customers in June 2007), more than one billion iPhones of all generations were sold.

"The iPhone is an essential part of our customers' lives and today more than ever it is changing the way we communicate, have fun, live and work," said current Apple CEO Tim Cook on the occasion of the anniversary of Steve Jobs' successor. "The iPhone set the gold standard for mobile phones in its first decade, and I'm just getting started. The best is yet to come.”
