Most of you probably know about the existence of the Magnifier function in the iPhone. But did you also know that the magnifier in the iPhone does not have to be used only to enlarge too small text? In today's article, we'll take a closer look at all the features of this useful Accessibility component on your iPhone.

Activation, startup and basic functions

Magnifier is not included with iPhone by default. This is part of the Accessibility feature, so you need to activate it first. On your iPhone, launch Settings and head to the Accessibility section, where you activate the necessary function in the Magnifier section. In Settings -> Control Center -> Edit controls, you can then add the Magnifier shortcut to the Control Center as well. You can also activate the magnifier by triple-pressing the side button (for devices with Face ID) or triple-pressing the home button (iPhone 8 and earlier). After starting the magnifier, you can adjust the zoom in or zoom out of the text on the slider in the bottom bar. You take a picture of the text by clicking the shutter button in the middle of the bottom bar, you can get out of the captured photo mode by pressing the shutter button again. You also have a flash.

Color filters and color inversion

If you are one of those users who have vision problems even when using the classic magnifier, you can customize how the magnifier on your iPhone will work and how it will display the content you are viewing. Color filters are also a useful part of the magnifying glass. You can easily activate the filters on the magnifying glass. First, launch Magnifier on your iPhone using one of the methods above. You can find the button for switching filters in the lower right corner of the display. You can choose from white/blue, yellow/blue, grayscale, yellow/black and red/black, or you can use the display mode without a filter. You can further customize the display of the filter on the sliders in the bottom bar. You can then "swap" the colors by pressing the button in the lower left corner.
