On July 24, 1874, the Woodward and Evans Light Company patented a device for spreading artificial light using electricity in Canada. The patent, which was approved on August 3, 1874, was nevertheless sold a little later to Thomas Edison, who successfully patented a slightly different invention of the incandescent lamp in the United States.
Google Chromecast is Coming (2013)
On July 24, 2013, Google introduced Chromecast - an HDMI device designed for streaming video and other content from a computer and other devices to TVs - including "non-smart" ones.
