In today's installment of our tech milestones series, we commemorate the day Google was officially incorporated. In addition, there will also be talk about the introduction of the Galaxy Gear smart watch from Samsung.

Registered by Google (1998)

On September 4, 1998, Larry Page and Sergey Brin officially registered their company called Google. A pair of Stanford University graduates hoped that their newly founded company would help them earn money on the Internet, and that their search engine would be as successful as it should be. It didn't take long for Time magazine to include Google along with the MP3 or perhaps the Palm Pilot among the ten best inventions in the field of technology (it was 1999). Google very quickly became the most popular and most used Internet search engine and reliably left a number of competitors behind.

Here Comes the Galaxy Gear (2013)

Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Gear smartwatch at its Unpacked event on September 4, 2013. The Galaxy Gear watch was equipped with a modified Android 4.3 operating system, powered by an Exynos processor, and the company introduced it together with its Galaxy Note 3 smartphone. The Galaxy Gear watch was succeeded by a model called the Gear 2014 in April 2.
