Cooperation between Apple and Samsung is nothing new. IBM's System/23 Datamaster arrives (1981)

IBM introduced its System/28 Datamaster desktop computer on July 1981, 23. The company introduced it just two weeks after introducing its IBM PC to the world. The target group for this model was mainly smaller businesses, but also for individuals who did not need the help of a computer specialist to set it up. A number of experts from the team that worked on the development of this computer were later transferred to work on the IBM PC project. The Datamaster was an all-in-one computer with a CRT display, a keyboard, an eight-bit Intel 8085 processor, and 265 KB of memory. At the time of its release, it was sold for 9 thousand dollars, it was possible to connect a second keyboard and screen to the computer.

Apple makes deal with Samsung Electronics (1999)

Apple Computer has announced plans to invest $100 million in South Korea's Samsung Electronics Co. The investment was supposed to go into the production of LCD panels, which the apple company wanted to use for its new portable computers of the iBook product line. The company presented these laptops shortly before announcing the mentioned investment. Steve Jobs said in this context at the time that due to the speed with which laptops are sold, many more relevant displays will be needed.
