Tumblr goes under Yahoo (2017)

On May 20, 2017, Yahoo bought the blogging platform Tumblr for $1,1 billion. Tumblr has enjoyed great popularity among various groups of users, from fitness enthusiasts to manga fans to teenagers with eating disorders or lovers of pornographic material. It was the latter group that was concerned about the acquisition, but Yahoo insisted that it would run Tumblr as a separate company, and that accounts that did not violate any laws would be retained. But in 2017, Yahoo was bought by Verizon, and in March 2019, adult content was removed from Tumblr.
