From time to time, on the Jablíčkára website, we will introduce you to a tip for an interesting shortcut for your iPhone. Today we're going to take a closer look at a shortcut called Send Delayed Text for scheduling a text message.

From time to time, it may happen to all of us that we need to send a text message to someone on a certain day or at a certain time. Unfortunately, in such cases, among other things, there is also the risk that we will end up forgetting to send the message. There are more ways to prevent such forgetting. In short, we can write that message despite the fact that it does not suit us or the addressee, or you can set a notification in the native Reminders that we should send the given message. The second option is to use a shortcut called Send Delayed Text. As the name suggests, this is a useful tool that allows you to create a text message on your iPhone and schedule it to be sent on a day of your choice.

The shortcut called Send Delayed Text works very simply. When you start it, you will first be asked who you want to send the scheduled message to, then in the lower part of the day selection tab you will set the desired time. After selecting the desired recipient from the contacts on your iPhone, and then writing the message itself. Before sending it, the system will ask you to make sure if you really want to send the message to the recipient you selected. The shortcut worked as it should when I tried it, only there was almost a minute between confirming the time and confirming the recipient, which can be inconvenient at times. Nevertheless, the scheduled message arrived safely at the appointed time. To install a shortcut on your iPhone, run the link in Safari on your device. Also, make sure you enable untrusted shortcuts in Settings -> Shortcuts.
