It's perfectly clear to me that not all iPhone X users will be so interested in this information that they can't sleep without it. Even so, I think there are quite a few hardware fans out there who will appreciate this trick. If you want to know what components your iPhone is made of, or more precisely, what company your iPhone X LTE modem is from, you've come to the right place today. In today's article, we will show you whether your iPhone X has an LTE modem from Qualcomm or Intel.

How to find out the manufacturer of the LTE modem?

We can find out the manufacturer of the LTE chip by the numbers and letters that we find in the form model number. And where do we find this number?

  • Let's go to Settings
  • Here we open a tab In general
  • In General, click on the first option - Information
  • Here we find a column Model
  • In the right part is the model number that we have to click – the number changes
  • Remember the new number and now move to the next paragraph where the differences between LTE modules are shown

Differences in model numbers

iPhone X is manufactured with three LTE modules:

iPhone X A1865: Apple uses the Qualcomm MDM9655 Snapdragon X16 LTE chip for CDMA carriers (ie Verizon, Sprint,…) in the United States, Australia, China, Hong Kong, and New Zealand.

iPhone X A1902: Apple uses the Qualcomm MDM9655 Snapdragon X16 LTE chip for Japan.

iPhone X A1901: Apple uses the Intel XMM 7480 chip for GSM operators in the Czech Republic (such as Vodafone, O2, T-Mobile), the United States (AT&T, T-Mobile), Canada, Europe in general, Singapore, South Korea, Malaysia, the Philippines, the United Arab Emirates, South Africa, Argentina, Russia and Mexico.

So that this article is not so poor, I will tell you one interesting thing at the end. A company called Cellular Insights conducted research in which it found that Intel chips are slightly slower than Qualcomm chips. Anyway, it doesn't mean anything to you, the end user, as the difference in speed is really negligible.
