For many years, Apple has been in the habit of presenting various features of its devices in videos published on its YouTube channel. Videos promoting the strengths and capabilities of iPhone cameras are particularly impressive, and the latest spot called Experiments IV: Fire & Ice is no exception.

The mentioned clip is part of the Experiments series from the Shot on iPhone series, which Apple introduced in September 2018. As the name suggests, this is already the fourth installment of this series and at the same time the first video from the Experiments series that presents the features of the iPhone 11 Pro camera. Donghoon Jun and James Thornton of Incite collaborated on the music video.

The creators used several functions and modes of the iPhone 11 Pro camera for the shots, such as slo-mo. As is usual with the videos from the Shot on iPhone series, no computer editing was used in this clip either - it is real footage of fire and ice, taken practically from close range. In addition to the promotional clip as such, the footage of which is less than two minutes, Apple also released a behind-the-scenes video of the creation of the promotional spot. In the aforementioned behind-the-scenes video, viewers can learn, for example, how the creators managed to achieve the effects in the clip.

All of the videos that are part of the Experiments Shot on iPhone series are shot "portrait", and most of them are the work of the already mentioned Donghoon Jun and James Thornton. The very first video from this series was a time-lapse and slo-mo clip shot on an iPhone XS. The second clip from the Experiments series was released in January of last year, when Jun and Thornton filmed 360° footage with the help of thirty-two iPhone XRs. The third clip from this series was released in June 2019 and its central theme was the water element.
