Apple Watch is the best-selling watch in the world, and not only among smart ones. For iPhone owners, it is of course an ideal tool for measuring their activities, health and receiving notifications. And even though they already provide a really comprehensive amount of features, they still lack some. The competition already has them.

Health monitoring features on smartwatches and fitness trackers are getting better every day. Now you can take an EKG, find out your oxygen saturation level, measure your stress level, or monitor women's health and much more, just on your fitness tracker or wrist-worn smartwatch. Some models, such as Fitbit Sense, can even measure the temperature of your skin.

And that's just one of the three things that Apple Watch Series 8 is hotly speculated to learn. The others are blood glucose measurement non-invasive method, which other manufacturers have so far unsuccessfully dealt with and blood pressure measurement. But specifically, models from other manufacturers already manage that. However, according to the latest reports, there is even a threat that the new generation of Apple's smart watches will not receive any of these innovations.

Competition and their possibilities

Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 they were released before the Apple Watch Series 7 and handle many health-monitoring functions, including ECG, SpO2 measurement, and a new BIA Sensor that can determine your body composition. It will thus provide valuable data on the percentage of fat, muscle mass, bones, etc. But at the same time, compared to the Apple Watch, it can measure blood pressure.

If you leave out the stable of Apple and Samsung, they are just Fitbit Sense one of the best smartwatches providing the most advanced health and fitness tracking features. Above all, they contain many functions that you will not find in other devices. Most interesting is the advanced stress monitoring, which uses an electrodermal activity sensor (EDA). It detects the level of sweat on the user's hand and combines the data with data on the quality and duration of sleep and evaluates it with heart rate information.

Another unique function of theirs is the measurement of skin temperature, which is a function that they came up with first. The watch also provides an advanced level of sleep tracking that provides an overall sleep score and a smart alarm function to wake you up at the perfect time. Of course, there is a warning about high and low heart rate (but they cannot detect an irregular heart rhythm), activity goals, breathing rate, etc.

And then there's the model Garmin Fenix 6, for which we are soon expecting a successor with the serial number 7. These watches are primarily focused on monitoring sports and fitness activities, with health in mind. Garmin models generally excel at comprehensive sleep measurement, when you turn on the Pulse Ox sensor for the maximum amount of relevant information. They, too, can monitor your stress throughout the day, but also provide information on the recovery time needed to regenerate your body after training. Using this function, you can better plan your next ones. Other features like hydration tracking, which monitors fluid intake and body energy tracking, are also very useful. This function, on the other hand, will give you an overview of your body's energy reserves.

So there is certainly room for Apple to move its Apple Watch. Series 7 did not bring any big news (except for an increase in the case, display and resistance), and the company will have to try hard to finally appeal to customers with something interesting for Series 8. As the competition continues to grow, Apple's share of the wearables market is naturally decreasing, so it is extremely important to bring a product that will bring back the popularity of the entire series.
