I consider my Mac to be a great work tool that I would definitely not live without. For the work I do, an apple computer is absolutely perfect for me - you could say it was almost made for me. Unfortunately, nothing is perfect - in the past, Apple was really close to perfection, but in recent years it seems to me that it is moving away from this term. Unfortunately, there have been all kinds of bugs in operating systems for a long time, and here and there even a hardware problem appears. Personally, I have been dealing with a screen saver issue for quite some time now. It often gets stuck after starting so that I am unable to turn it off in any way. Fortunately, I recently came up with an interesting solution that I would like to share with you.

Stuck Screensaver on Mac: What to do in this situation

If you've ever had a screen saver stuck on your Mac in such a way that you can't turn it off except by turning off the entire device, you don't have to worry about losing all your unsaved data. When this error appears, it is not possible to turn off the saver either with the mouse or the keyboard, and not even by clicking the start button, for example. In all cases, the saver plays continuously and does not respond to the shutdown command. The solution is to use a simple keyboard shortcut, which will turn off the displays, which, among other things, will help turn off the saver. Abbreviations are as follows:

  • Command + Option + drive button: use this hotkey if you have a mechanic (or a keyboard with this button);
  • Command + Option + Power button: use this key if you don't have a mechanic.
  • After using one of the above keyboard shortcuts wait a few seconds, and then move the mouse as the case may be tap on the keyboard.
  • Your Mac's screen should now light up without the screen saver showing. Just in case enter and the problem is over.

You must be wondering what actually causes a stuck screen saver on a Mac. I've been trying to figure out what I'm actually doing wrong on the Mac for a long time and why the saver keeps getting stuck - I can't figure it out anyway. The hang occurs completely irregularly and it doesn't matter what I'm doing on the Mac at the moment. Whether I have several applications running at the same time, or just one, the hang will show up from time to time. Fortunately, the above-mentioned procedure is nothing that cannot be handled.
