Just a few hours after Donald Trump announced a ban on TikTok in the US, Microsoft has come out to say that it is very interested in TikTok in the United States. Specifically, Microsoft is interested in buying TikTok in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. TikTok in the rest of the world and especially in China would thus continue to be led by the company ByteDance, which is still behind the world-famous application. This whole case arose due to the fact that the company ByteDance, and by extension the application TikTok, has to spy on all its users and store their personal data on its servers. Trump considers this theory to be true and therefore dangerous for the US population, so he initially decided on a drastic step in the form of the aforementioned ban. According to him, if Microsoft acquired TikTok in the mentioned countries, it would conduct a security check. Thanks to this, TikTok could continue to run in the US and Trump would not have to worry about being spied on. However, Trump's opinion on buying part of TikTok was very skeptical from the beginning.
A few hours have passed since this announcement, Donald Trump probably slept and now he is no longer afraid of the mentioned trade, on the contrary, he is leaning towards it in a way. However, Microsoft has to meet one condition, which is to complete this entire deal by September 15th. Microsoft originally stated that it wanted to complete the entire potential deal with TikTok by September 15, and that's how Donald Trump "grabbed" it. Therefore, if TikTok is bought by Microsoft before September 15, the ban will most likely not happen. However, if Microsoft does not manage to buy it, the ban will still apply. However, Microsoft has stated outright that it will not inform the public about any progress regarding the negotiations with TikTok and ByteDance.
