On September 10, 2013, Apple presented two new models of its smartphones - iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c. The presentation of more than one model was not at all usual for the apple company at that time, but the mentioned event was significant for several reasons.

Apple presented its iPhone 5s as a very advanced smartphone, loaded with a number of new and useful technologies. The iPhone 5s carried the internal codename N51 and in terms of design was very similar to its predecessor, the iPhone 5. It was equipped with a four-inch display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels and an aluminum body combined with glass. The iPhone 5S was sold in Silver, Gold and Space Gray, was equipped with a dual-core 1,3GHz Apple A7 processor, had 1 GB of DDR3 RAM and was available in variants with 16 GB, 32 GB and 64 GB of storage.

The Touch ID function and the related fingerprint sensor, which was located under the glass of the Home Button, were completely new. At Apple, it seemed for a while that security and user convenience could not remain in opposition forever. Users were used to a four-digit combination lock. A longer or alphanumeric code would mean higher security, but entering it could be too tedious for many people. In the end, Touch ID turned out to be the ideal solution, and users were thrilled with it. In connection with Touch ID, there were understandably many concerns about its possible abuse, but the solution as such was a great compromise between security and convenience.

Another new feature of the iPhone 5s was the Apple M7 motion coprocessor, an improved iSight camera with the ability to shoot slow-mo videos, panoramic shots or even sequences. Apple also equipped its iPhone 5s with a TrueTone flash with both white and yellow elements to better match real-world color temperatures. The iPhone 5s immediately gained immense popularity among users. The head of Apple at the time, Tim Cook, revealed not long after its launch that the demand for this novelty was unusually high, the initial stocks were practically sold out, and that more than nine million new Apple smartphones were sold during the first weekend after the launch. The iPhone 5s was also met with a positive response by journalists, who described it as a significant step forward. Both cameras of the new smartphone, the new Home Button with Touch ID and new color designs received praise. However, some pointed out that switching to him from the classic "five" is not very worthwhile. The truth is that the iPhone 5s gained popularity especially among those who switched to the new iPhone from the 4 or 4S models, and for many users it also became the very first impulse to purchase a smartphone from Apple. How do you remember the iPhone 5S?
