Apple already has a decent lineup of smartphones. Each of these models certainly has something in it, but there are iPhones that users remember a little better than others. The iPhone 5S is among the models that Apple has really succeeded in, according to a number of users. It is this one that we will remember today in today's part of our history of Apple products.

Apple introduced its iPhone 5S alongside the iPhone 5c at its Keynote on September 10, 2013. While the plastic-clad iPhone 5c represented an affordable version of Apple's smartphone, the iPhone 5S represented progress and innovation. One of the most significant hardware innovations was the implementation of a fingerprint sensor under the device's Home Button. Sales of the iPhone 5S were officially launched on September 20, 2013.

In addition to the Home Button with the Touch ID function, the iPhone 5S could boast of one more interesting first. It was the first smartphone of its kind to be equipped with a 64-bit processor, namely Apple's A7 processor. Thanks to this, it offered significantly higher speed and overall performance. Journalists at the time of the release of the iPhone 5S emphasized in their reviews that although this model has not changed much compared to its predecessors, its importance is great. The iPhone 5S offered the already mentioned better performance, slightly better internal hardware and also an increase in internal memory capacity. However, the 64-bit A7 processor from Apple, together with the fingerprint sensor hidden under the glass of the Home Button, the improved rear camera, and the improved flash, earned particularly a lot of attention from the media and later also from users. In addition to hardware innovations, the iPhone 5S was also equipped with the iOS 7 operating system, which was in many ways far removed from previous versions of iOS.

The iPhone 5S was met with a mostly positive response from experts. Journalists, as well as users, especially positively evaluated the Touch ID function, which was completely new. The TechCrunch server called the iPhone 5S, without exaggeration, the best smartphone that was available on the market at the time. The iPhone 5S also garnered praise for its performance, features, or perhaps camera improvements, but some criticized the lack of design changes. In the first three days of sales, Apple managed to sell a total of nine million iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C, with the iPhone 5S doing three times better in the number of units sold. There has been huge interest in the new iPhone from the start – Piper Jaffray's Gene Munster reported that a line of 5 people stretched from the Apple Store on New York's 1417th Avenue on the day it went on sale, while the iPhone 4 was waiting at the same location on its launch to "only" 1300 people.
