In October 2011, Apple introduced its iPhone 4S - a tiny smartphone made of glass and aluminum with sharp edges, on which users could use the Siri voice assistant for the first time. But even before its official presentation, people learned about it from the Internet, paradoxically thanks to Apple itself.

The latest beta version of the iTunes application at the time somewhat unexpectedly revealed not only the name of the upcoming smartphone, but also the fact that it will be available in black and white color variants. The relevant information was located in the code of the Info.plist file in the beta version of iTunes 10.5 for Apple mobile devices. In the relevant file, icons of the iPhone 4S appeared along with a description of black and white colors. Therefore, users learned even before the official presentation of the news that the upcoming smartphone will resemble the iPhone 4, and the media already informed ahead of time that the upcoming iPhone 4S should be equipped with an 8MP camera, 512MB of RAM and an A5 processor. At the time before the release of the new iPhone, most users still had no idea whether Apple would come with the iPhone 5 or "only" with an improved version of the iPhone 4, but analyst Ming-Chi Kuo already predicted the second variant. According to him, it should have been a version of the iPhone 4 with at least an improved antenna. According to estimates at the time, the upcoming iPhone with the codename N94 was supposed to be equipped with Gorilla Glass on the back, and there was speculation about the presence of the Siri assistant, which Apple bought in 2010.

The premature reveal had no negative effect on the resulting popularity of the iPhone 4S. Apple presented its then-new product on October 4, 2011. It was the last Apple product introduced during Steve Jobs' lifetime. Users could order their new smart phone from October 7, the iPhone 4S hit store shelves on October 14. The smartphone was equipped with an Apple A5 processor and equipped with an 8MP camera capable of recording 1080p video. It ran the iOS 5 operating system, and the aforementioned Siri voice assistant was also present. New in iOS 5 were the iCloud and iMessage applications, users also got the Notification Center, Reminders and Twitter integration. The iPhone 4S was met with a mostly positive reception from users, with reviewers particularly praising Siri, the new camera or the performance of the new smartphone. The iPhone 4S was followed by the iPhone 2012 in September 5, the smartphone was officially discontinued in September 2014. How do you remember the iPhone 4S?
