The market for music streaming services is getting quite crowded. In terms of the number of users and especially paying subscribers, Spotify still leads the way with more than 60 million subscribers. Next is Apple Music, which boasts 30 million paying customers (because the non-paying ones are out of luck). We also have services like Tidal, Pandora, Amazon Prime Music, Google Play Music and many others. As it seems, next year another big player on the market will be added to this sum, which is already a little bit active here, but should "flow" into it fully from next year. This is YouTube, which should arrive with a dedicated music platform, which for now is internally referred to as YouTube Remix.

The Bloomberg server came with the information, according to which all preparations should be at a relatively advanced stage. For its new service, Google is negotiating terms with the biggest publishers, such as Warner Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Universal Music Group, etc. The new contracts with these publishers should allow Google to have such terms on the basis of which they will be able to compete with, for example, Spotify or Apple Music.

The service should offer a classic music library, which will be complemented by, for example, video clips that will come from YouTube. It is not yet entirely clear how Google will solve the coexistence of YouTube Remix, YouTube Red and Google Play Music, as the services would logically compete with each other. They have time to resolve this situation until around April, when the official launch should take place. We will see what the new service will look like, and how it will eventually perform, roughly in the middle of next year.
