The new operating systems, specifically iOS and iPadOS 15, macOS 12 Monterey, watchOS 8 and tvOS 15, were presented by Apple more than a month ago, as part of the WWDC21 developer conference. Since then, we have been working on new features and improvements that we have received every day on our magazine. At first glance, it might seem that there are few innovations in the presented systems, mainly due to the presentation style. Immediately after the end of the presentation, the Californian giant made available the first developer beta versions of the new systems, and a few weeks later the public beta versions were released. In this article, we will focus on one of the new features in watchOS 8.

watchOS 8: How to share photos via Messages or Mail

When introducing watchOS 8, Apple also focused on a redesigned Photos app, among other things. While in older versions of watchOS this application will only show you a selection of a few dozen or hundreds of photos, in watchOS 8 you can look forward to several collections in which you can find recommended photos, memories and selections. In addition to this change, it is also possible to share a certain photo directly from your Apple Watch, via the Messages or Mail application. This is useful if you just have a long moment, you start scrolling through your memories and you want to share a certain photo with someone immediately, without having to take your iPhone out of your pocket. The procedure for sharing is as follows:

  • First, you need to press on your Apple Watch with watchOS 8 digital crown.
  • This will bring you to a list of all available applications.
  • In this list, now find and open the one named Photos.
  • Then find photo, that you want to share, and click on her.
  • Once you've done that, press in the bottom right corner share icon (square with an arrow).
  • Next, an interface will appear where you can easily share the photo.
  • The photo can now be shared selected contacts, or get off below and select News or Mail
  • After choosing one of the methods, that's all it takes fill in the other text fields and send the photo.

Using the above method, you can easily share a photo within watchOS 8, either through Messages or Mail. If you decide to share a photo via Mail, you must fill in the recipient, the subject of the e-mail and the e-mail message itself. If you decide to share via Messages, you must select a contact and possibly attach a message. Within the sharing interface, you can also create a watch face from the selected photo. So the next time you have a long moment, remember this tutorial, thanks to which you can review your memories and possibly share them.
