Tim Cook made a business trip to Europe this week, where he visited Germany and France, among other places. Following his trip, he also gave an interview in which he shared details regarding iPhone 11 pricing, his own take on the competition for Apple TV+, and also addressed the fact that many call Apple a monopoly

The basic iPhone 11 surprised many with the ratio of its functions and performance to the relatively low price - the smartphone, equipped with a dual rear camera and an improved A13 Bionic processor, costs even less than last year's iPhone XR at the time of its launch. In this context, Cook stated that Apple has always tried to keep the prices of its products as low as possible. "Fortunately, we were able to lower the price of the iPhone this year," he said.

The talk also touched on how Cook sees the new TV+ service in terms of competing with services like Netflix. In this context, the director of Apple said that he does not perceive the business in the field of streaming services in the sense of a game that can be won or lost against the competition, and that Apple is simply trying to get in on the action. “I don't think the competition is afraid of us, the video sector works differently: it's not if Netflix wins and we lose, or if we win and they lose. A lot of people are using multiple services, and we're just trying to be one of them now.”

The topic of antitrust proceedings, in which Apple repeatedly participates, was also discussed in the interview. "No sane person would ever call Apple a monopoly," he argued vehemently, stressing that there is strong competition in every market where Apple operates.
