The developers from Jump Over the Age studio have already proven that they can make quality games in 2020 with their debut In Other Waters. The original astrobiologist simulator is now being followed up with a new one that also defies classically defined game genres. Citizen Sleeper is inspired by the most traditional tabletop role-playing games. Although the novelty borrows from the past, it looks towards a cyberpunk setting in a gray future.

In Citizen Sleeper, you take on the role of a 'sleeper', an android that has a copied digital consciousness embedded in its body. In the game world, such robots are the property of the giant corporation Essen-Arp. Unwilling to accept your fate, you escape to the remote space station Erlin's Eye. On it, you will have to deal with your fate as an interplanetary refugee and survive by forming unlikely friendships and working in a variety of different jobs. In addition, you will also get the opportunity to uncover the secrets of a corporation that unethically plays with digital copies of other people.

Gameplay-wise, Citizen Sleeper leaves its mechanics up to chance. In each of the game cycles, you roll dice, which you then assign to individual actions. Therefore, do not expect any action from the game. Most of your time will be spent on dialogues and looking at static screens. But even with them, skilled developers can conjure up a dense atmosphere with a philosophically dense story.
