When the Californian giant showed us the upcoming macOS 2020 Big Sur operating system at the WWDC 11 developer conference in June, it received a standing ovation almost immediately. The system is moving forward by leaps and bounds, which is why it has earned its own serial number and is generally getting closer to, for example, iPadOS. We had to wait quite a long time for Big Sur since June - specifically until yesterday.
Precisely when the first public version was released, Apple encountered such huge problems that it probably did not expect at all. The desire to install a new operating system was really high. A colossal number of apple users suddenly proposed to download and install, which unfortunately the apple servers could not cope with and considerable complications arose. The problem first manifested itself in slow downloads, where some users even encountered a message that they would have to wait up to several days. Everything then escalated at around 11:30 in the evening, when the servers responsible for operating system updates completely crashed.
Moments later, the mentioned onslaught was also felt on other servers, specifically on the servers providing Apple Pay, Apple Card and Apple Maps. However, users of Apple Music and iMessage also encountered partial problems. Fortunately, we were able to read about the existence of the problem practically instantly on the relevant apple page, where there is an overview of the status of the services. Those who managed to download the update but didn't win yet. Some users then encountered an even different message when installing macOS 11 Big Sur, which you can view in the gallery attached above. Macs specifically reported that an error occurred during the installation itself. At the same time, the Developer message did not work either. However, it is unclear whether these problems were related.
Fortunately, in the current situation, everything should work properly and you practically do not have to worry about updating to the new operating system macOS 11 Big Sur. Have you encountered similar problems or managed to update your apple computer without any problem? You can install the new version in System preferences, where all you have to do is select a card Software update.
I also had problems downloading (I managed only after several hours of unclicking messages) but unfortunately it didn't end there, my Air 2020 crashed once during the installation with an error message and turned off the second time, saying that it wouldn't turn on again for about half an hour. Now everything works as it should, but I would recommend everyone to wait for another version.
I've been using the beta for a while now so I only needed to download an extra 2 gigs and a bit and luckily that went well.
I downloaded at 4 in the morning and it was fine. I really like bigsur!!!!!
So I ran into another problem, I can't adjust the brightness via the buttons on the keyboard..
I tried downloading last night, but it wrapped around midnight. The next morning, everything went perfectly, on the new MacBook Pro 2020, Big Sur is sleeping like clockwork. So far the only complaint is towards the icons - they are really terrible. Those Photoshop effects like bevel emboss or drop shadow are more reminiscent of the 90s than 2020.
It didn't work in the evening, but it did in the morning around 8. It was enough to wait for them to sleep in the USA.
I have 37 GB of free storage on my disk. (I say I need 35,5 GB for the installation) The installer downloads, then reports that the remaining 20,31 is not enough for the installation... How much memory do I actually need before downloading the installation?
On my MacBook Air 13 from 2015, the installation is fine, but Safari and the AppStore do not work.
I have the same problem and I can't figure it out. Safari and AppStore are not working. Does anyone know what I'm doing?
Hi, I have the same problem, have you solved this error yet?
I have a new iMac 2020, and I have downloaded the big sur update XNUMX times already, and every time before starting the installation, I got a message saying that there was an error in the update (the "%@" tag is missing or invalid) does anyone know what shadow.? Thank you
Good morning, have you solved the problem yet? I ran into the same error. Thank you!
About five installation attempts (MacBook Pro 2017) and still the same "%@" error.
Hello, I have the same problem, did you solve it somehow?
