Although the iTunes Music Store is supposed to be the easiest way to buy digital music, there are still a lot of questions for us. We have selected the most serious of them and will try to answer them. The answers refer to the Czech version of iTunes.
If I buy a song on my iPhone, can I download it for free in iTunes on my Mac or iPad?
No. In the case of apps, this system works because you purchase a license that will be tied to your account forever. But it is different in the case of music, where you do not buy a license for listening, but only the given music file. Each purchased song or album can only be downloaded once. So if you download a song on iPhone and Mac on the same account, you'll pay twice. To transfer songs, it is necessary to synchronize through iTunes, where the song is copied to computers where you have an authorized account. In the future, iCloud wireless should solve this problem.
If I accidentally purchased a song twice, what should I do?
The only option is to try to claim the purchase. The complaint procedure can be found in this article. The difference in app claims from music will be slight.
I already bought music on US iTunes, can the songs be transferred to a CZ account?
No. The songs will continue to be tied to the US account, which must be authorized on the computer in case of synchronization. However, there is talk that iCloud will allow multiple accounts to be merged into one, but this has not yet been confirmed.
I can't download free songs. What should I do?
Although these are free tracks, you must have a credit card linked to your account to download them. As soon as you fill in the appropriate information for your account, the songs can already be downloaded.
What format are the tracks in and how is the protection?
All songs can be downloaded in AAC format at a bitrate of 256 kbps, which all Apple devices can handle. The tracks do not contain any DRM protection.
I bought several songs from one album, do I have to pay full price later if I want to download the whole album?
You definitely don't have to, there is an option for this in iTunes Complete My Album. iTunes will detect if you have already purchased any songs from the given album and, if so, will deduct the price of the already purchased songs when you purchase the entire album. But be careful, this function only works for individual albums. If you buy a song from a compilation, you can't buy another album with that song at a discounted price. And of course it doesn't work the other way around either.
What about movies and series?
Movies and series are not yet available for the Czech Republic. The hitch will probably be in the international licenses, which apparently still need to be negotiated with the film studios. However, it can be expected that films and series will appear in the Czech iTunes.
If you have any other questions, feel free to write them to us and we will try to answer them.
Nice article. ;) But there was probably a mistake in the first question, right? :) Because the answer to the question "If I buy an app on my iPhone, can I download it for free in iTunes on my Mac or iPad?" is YES, not NO. :)
So try it and then write to us that you were wrong. Let's say iTunes 10.4 and IOS 4.xxx.
Where is it written about the application? We're talking about songs from the Music Store
If I buy the app on my iPhone, can I download it for free in iTunes on my Mac or iPad? No.
This is the stupidity of the year! It's the opposite!
No you can not. It really doesn't work that way now.
This was a typo, it should have been songs, not apps. Of course, this is possible with applications.
The answer to the first question is very confusing. And above all, it is false.
I have one more question that is not here. I have a US account now and I pay with an iTunes Gift Card. But I would like to have a CZ account at my real address. So is it possible to do it in such a way that when I run out of credit, I change my US address to a CZ address and I can pay with a normal Czech payment card and have a normal Czech account?
I don't think that's possible, the account is kept as US, changing the address to Czech shouldn't affect it. So it will be necessary to have both accounts or merge them in iCloud if this rumor is confirmed.
I would be quite interested in this small detail, but I'm afraid to check it myself. I have a US account and of course I want to keep it, but I would like to change my US address to my Czech one, unless it happens that I change it to CZ or I block it in time.
With that, I would also like to note that I download writing for free even without a payment card. Of course, we are talking about the US, it probably won't work in the Czech Republic.
It works perfectly normal! I have one ID with a CZ address and a CZ credit card. I arranged a German credit card and it was enough to change the ID address in the settings to a German one including the credit card and I was in DE iTunes. Now that it is finally possible to shop in CZ iTunes, I have again changed the address and card to CZ and continue to work. I still have songs and applications from both stores.
But that's a slightly different case. I will admit to the CZ address there, but I want to stay at the US address. I'd rather have a US address listed that way.
And I'm also wondering about the mention I clicked off in the license agreement today about the number of "uses" or copies? It was written about a maximum of 5 devices.. Is that right? And there was some "protection" something like Fairplay, but I don't remember exactly.. so I don't understand the constant description of no DRM, when there is such a thing, but it's just called differently apparently. Or am I off? ..ah, I see it already "..which all Apple devices can handle..."
This paragraph refers to music with DRM (fairplay), which is no longer sold... It will probably be there for historical reasons...
aha, thanks :) I was surprised that it wasn't written about in the article - after all, I thought it was significant..
My goodness, first of all it's not about the app, it's about the music!! And secondly, it's true. There is no purchased for music, so it may happen that you buy one song twice.
There is a direct statement from Apple on the iphone forum, so before you accuse someone of lying, check it out!!!!!
http://forum.iphone.cz/viewtopic.php?f=118&t=48557
It happened to me, I had to pay twice the same amount for the same album on my invoice. I downloaded it 2x to my iPhone and 1x to my PC, and then they took 2 times the price of the album from my credit card. I'm going to try to claim it.
Ondro, it was really written wrong from the beginning. So don't worry and be fine :)
But purchased EXISTS. JUST NOT FOR CZECH USERS (or those with CZ account)
The answer to the first question is misleading. No, you cannot download it again for free. However, it works normally for US accounts, so the problem is simply that someone - with the launch of the CZ Itunes Music Store - did not set it up.
And until someone sets it up, only a fool would buy it…
As I found out, it was a typo, it should have been songs, not apps.
I don't know about you, but I normally download the 2053 songs and videos I have purchased so far via iCloud, and I see PURCHASED for the purchased ones as well as for the applications. TV SHOWS can be seen on Apple TV until the next update. I'm not kidding - see link.

But NOBODY deals with iCloud here! (including because it will be official from 12.10)
Exactly. For regular users, using iCloud or iOS 5 is then illegal. Whatever they do or don't do there is only their problem and risk. Officially, there is nothing like that here.
That screenshot has nothing to do with iCloud, it also appears to me (the cloud) with music and I don't have ios5 at all!!!
I don't have any unofficial iCloud or iOS 5!!!!!!! All official !!!!!!
And do you have a Czech iTunes account? That's hard, isn't it? :)
I have a similar problem and I just wanted to ask your opinion. we have one apple ID in two people. it is connected to my calculator, the second computer, my iphone and the second ipad. he was buying an album on his ipad and i changed my apple id email in the process and the download stopped halfway through. after it changed and he logged in there again, at a new address but actually the same apple id, so he bought the album again, because we are used to it from applications that it works like that and the rest reached the ipad. then we synced the ipad with the computer and it had the album twice. and there is one in the purchase history. did we buy it twice or just once?
sorry for the stupid question! I found the answer myself
Hello,
I originally had a CZ iTunes account, and I downloaded one paid application, after which my payment method was blocked. I suppose that put me in the red. But, after a month, the payment didn't go through, so I opened a new account, and it won't take my credit card. Am I in the vernacular?
It probably won't take the card because it's tied to another account. iTunes will only deduct the money if there is money available on the card. For example, it happened to me that I changed my credit card and bought an application for the old one, but it no longer existed. So I owed Apple a few bucks. Until then I couldn't buy anything or upgrade until the amount was paid off, which was resolved by linking to a new card. Maybe this is a similar case, just look at Billing Info I guess.
First question: Wrong answer. Whenever I purchase something from the iTunes Music Store, it immediately starts downloading to all my devices without sync. And if not, it can be done manually in the Purchased menu. I use a US account, but I don't know Czech (it's appropriate to add which country you're talking about).
The 5th question is answered in strange Czech (and now I'm not talking about the language, but about the nature - no DRM, no rules - this understanding is almost inevitable for many). :-(
BTW: It's quite funny to watch the Czech chart of the best-selling albums. :D
"And if not, it can be done manually in the Purchased menu. "
Don't you understand that Purchased has NO MUSIC? Should I give you a screenshot or something? iTunes 10.4x, CZ account.
Just that it is in US iTunes.
I'm not even talking about anything else here…
I have in SK ucte purchased and there are sweets that I purchased
Fast screen. I think it's stupid. Or a bug.
does itunes have a path?
he doesn't have a road. Czech yes...
you are good. You can quote without diacritics. Where can I find this Czech?
Well, according to Apple itself, the songs should be downloaded again from the purchased section...see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519 it just doesn't work here yet
On the first day, I tried to download the album I bought on the iPhone in itunes, and in the end it failed again. so I complained and in two days they refunded my money.
but in the SK itunes store I still don't have the Purchased tab as it is in the US. so hopefully icloud will solve it
I would have one more question, if I buy music on an iPhone and then want to get it to the PC via itunes, it will ask me if I agree to delete the music on the iPhone and play it with what I have on the PC...
Do you happen to know what I'm doing so wrong?
Thanks
Hello, I would like to ask if I download a song or an album via iTunes, is there a way to burn it to a CD so that I can listen to it in the car? thank you :)
Sure, it's a standard feature in iTunes, I also use it occasionally.
Hello, I know that for many people it will sound humorous, but how to merge songs into one album in itunes. I have the BadBoyS II soundtrack and others that show up as separate albums to me. The only thing I can think of so far is to add files to favorites. Is it possible otherwise? Is Tune UP also addressed here??
Hello, I have a problem with installing iTunes. It always crashes and the table pops up here http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/545/problemitunes.jpg/. Please advise me how to install it without problems? Thank you.
Hello, does the complete my album function work for you on the CZECH itunes store, I don't know if it's a problem only with my account or with others as well. Thanks for the reply
I would like to ask about a problem that I don't know how to solve. When I add a song from Flashka or a CD to ITunes and put it in the folder intended for synchronization with the iPhone, it happens that I don't have the song in the iPhone after synchronization. I have the song marked and the other songs download just fine. I also tried converting to waw format. Thank you MIchal
Hi, I would like to ask if there is somewhere I can request to add the missing album to my iTunes library so that I can buy it. Specifically, I am talking about a very well-known band that is currently offered in iTunes. All the previous albums are there, but the new album, which was released 2 months ago, is simply not in the Czech iTunes Music store... It will definitely be in the American one!.
Thank you so much for the advice and ideas.
Jack
Hello,
I don't know if I have iTunes set up before, but she backed up (not through iTunes, but normally copy the folder where I have music files) I have an external drive (on the terra drive on the computer) where I have the files and after opening iTunes they were deleted (so previously edited) tracks back either doubled in their entirety or between individual lines and in many tracks exclamation points and I couldn't find them anywhere even when I entered them into the search engine - search. I also lost the packaging (most of it). I manually deleted those duplicated tracks for 3 days and now I'm afraid they'll be back there. I only deleted them to remove them, not move them to the trash. I also want to add that when I found the exclamation points at the beginning, I entered to consolidate the tracks, I thought it would help and something else, but I don't remember that anymore. I clicked to organize the iTunes Media folder and I think I clicked to copy files to the iTunes Media folder... I have 45k songs in iTunes and I'm afraid that the same thing will happen again sometime next time. I hope that I have expressed myself so that you can understand. Thank you Šárka
Hello, beginner asking for advice. I used iTunes on PC, only to sync with iPod, I don't have an AppStore account. As of yesterday, I am the proud owner of an iMac. How to export and import playlists? This is what I tried so far after consulting with an Appleman: I exported all the playlists to an external hard drive, then plugged it into the Mac and selected "Import playlist" in iTunes. It says "The file 'Music.txt' cannot be imported because it appears not to be a valid export file." What am I doing wrong?” And please, how for a small child. Thanks.
