There was speculation about this back in the summer, and now it's actually true. Netflix introduced the new Netflix Games platform, which brings the possibility of playing mobile games under the banner of the company. But there is bad news for iPhone owners. Compared to the Android platform, they will have to wait a while.

All you need to play is a Netflix subscription - there are no ads, no additional fees and no in-app purchases. This means that you will be able to play within your subscription, which ranges from CZK 199 to CZK 319, depending on the quality of the stream you choose (more in the price list Netflix).

The mobile games, currently 5 and of course growing, are currently available on Android devices when you sign in to your Netflix profile. Here you will see a dedicated line and a card dedicated to games. You can easily download the title from here. So it's like your own App Store, i.e. Google Play. Most games should be played offline. There should also be a variety of genres so that really every player can find something to their liking.

Current list of games:

  • Stranger Things: 1984
  • Stranger Things 3: The Game
  • Shooting Hoops
  • Card Blast
  • Teeter Up

The game language is automatically set according to the language of the device, if of course it is available. The default is English. You can play on multiple devices on which you are logged in with your account. If you reach the device limit, the platform will let you know, and if necessary, you can log out of unused devices or remotely deactivate them to make room for new ones.

Troubled App Store

It can be expected that everything will work similarly on iOS, if the platform ever looks there. The company itself mentioned in a post on Twitter that support for the Apple platform is on the way, but did not give a specific date. It is also necessary to take into account that games are not available even on children's profiles, or they require an administrator PIN.

Netflix Games is actually similar to Apple Arcade, where the service application itself functions as a distribution channel. The games are downloaded to the device and thus appear on your desktop. And this may be the catch, why the iOS platform is not yet available. Apple does not yet allow this, although it faces considerable pressure and makes many concessions. This will surely take him a while.
