Although Apple releases a slightly better iPhone model every year, only a relatively small percentage of regular users update their models each year. However, updates with a two-year period are also an exception. Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi recently came up with the surprising finding that the time frame for users to upgrade to a new iPhone model has now stretched to four years, up from three years last fiscal year.
According to Sacconaghi, a number of factors have contributed to the reduced need for users to upgrade to a new model each year, including a discounted battery replacement program or the ever-increasing prices of iPhones.
Sacconaghi identifies the iPhone upgrade cycle as one of the most significant controversies associated with Apple today, and even predicts a nineteen percent decline in active devices for this fiscal year. According to Saccconaghi, only 16% of active users should upgrade to the new model this year.
The extension of the upgrade cycle was also confirmed several times by Tim Cook, who said that Apple customers are holding on to their iPhones longer than ever before. It should be noted, however, that Apple is not the only smartphone manufacturer that is currently struggling with extended upgrade intervals – Samsung, for example, is in a similar situation according to data from IDC. As far as shares are concerned, Apple is doing relatively well so far, but the company still has a long way to go to reach the trillion mark again.
How often do you switch to a new iPhone and what is the impetus for you to upgrade?

I'm not switching to a new iPhone. I would have to jump a lot to throw away 35 thousand for such a stupid thing as a mobile phone. I buy a phone for up to 5 thousand and it will last me 2-4 years. It depends when the battery runs out, or when I see one in the store with an extra good price/performance ratio that I like.
Yes, and precisely because you don't want to spend 35 thousand for such stupidity as a mobile phone, you go to the Jablíčkář.cz server ???♂️
And now seriously.
Try to consider for a moment that they have slightly different salary conditions elsewhere. They also have offers from other mobile operators elsewhere. As soon as they offered you an iPhone up to 5k with the contract, you would certainly consider it. Otherwise, of course, you wouldn't visit this server and make informed comments on competitors' servers.
I wish you a nice day.
I don't remember ever being on this server before. I don't even know how I ended up here. It was probably posted on seznam.cz or elsewhere as an "interesting article" so I clicked on it.
Since my salary is well above average and I am constantly on business trips, I dare to say that even most Germans would envy my "salary conditions". And I wouldn't buy something stupid like an iPhone anyway. Do you think that when a person has money, he must immediately buy every piece of crap he sees in the store?
PS: I was offered a new iPhone with an unlimited tariff for 60 Euro/month. Which might seem like a great deal to some. But what good would it do me? I still call for free and only an idiot would pay 1400 Euros for a phone.
you probably didn't notice that the vast majority of Germans have iPhones.
What to add, they mocked Android owners for so long, and finally it turned out that the biggest socks are IP owners. On the other hand, the fact is that Apple is backward and loses about two years to the competition. So naming a prehistoric telephone as a medieval one is not very motivating. That's the reality.
