Steve Jobs managed to amass a fortune in excess of six billion US dollars during his lifetime, an amount with which nothing limits you in practically anything you can think of. Still, Steve didn't put up with an overly ostentatious lifestyle, and even though his signature black turtleneck wasn't exactly on sale, there are black turtlenecks for ten times the price. It was the same with his Mercedes SL55 AMG, which is a great car, but after all, we have all the Ferraris, Rolls, Bentleys and many others that are a step up.

Instead of buying a Ferrari, Steve was able to buy two SL55 AMGs every year just so he didn't have to have a number plate on his vehicle. The state of California has a rather interesting loophole in the law on vehicles and traffic. Specifically, it states that the owner of a new vehicle is obliged to equip a license plate within 6 months of its purchase, and so Steve changed the vehicle every six months just so that he did not have to have an extra piece of sheet metal on it.

In short, Steve spent on things that are completely incomprehensible to the average billionaire, but he saved on things that most men suffer. However, he did not forgive one girlfriend and, together with his friend and one of the most recognized designers of the last century, Philippe Starck, and his company Ubik, he set about building a super yacht. The Feadship company started building it based on Starck's designs, and while the owner himself oversaw the construction and all the design elements, unfortunately Steve Jobs didn't get to see the launch. Steve died in October 2011, while his most expensive toy didn't set sail until a year later.

Although the world's most powerful men like to brag about the technical specifications of their super-luxury ships of the seas, not much has surfaced about the Venus, as Steve named his yacht. Venus is almost half the size of the current largest yacht of the world, which belongs to the Russian billionaire Andrei Melnichenko. The latter is exactly 141 meters long, while Venus is "only" 78,2 meters long. The width of the ship is 11,8 meters at its widest point. The exact price of the Venus is not officially known, but experts have estimated that it is a boat worth 137,5 million dollars, while the prices of the most expensive yachts in the world often reach the amount of XNUMX million dollars.

Jobs spent many years discussing how big the Yachta should be, what the curvature of individual elements should be, and discussions about the number of cabins. For example, who read the legendary story from Time about how Steve was able to solve weeks together with his wife washing machine selection and dryers, it is clear to him why just the preparations for the construction of the yacht took years of life.

The name Venus is then directly connected to Venus, the Roman goddess of sensuality, beauty, love and sex. She was later identified with the Greek goddess Adrodita. However, Steve Jobs used her for the title rather than as a goddess, as an inspiration who was the muse for a large number of artists, especially within Roman Reconstructionism. Venus was inherited by Steve Jobs' wife, Mrs. Laurene Powell Jobs. She uses the yacht with her family and can often be seen anchored off the coast of European cities such as Venice, Dubrovnik and many others.

Venus flies under the flag of the Cayman Islands. However, it has its home port in George Town, from where it sets sail on its journeys. If you would like to follow the ship on its voyages or look at dozens of photos that you have the option to add, then the best place to find out minute by minute where the yacht is sailing from and to is the website marinetraffic.com.

Venus is not so rare to see, as she is currently being used extensively by the Steve Jobs family, and given that she is only five years old, which is no age in the life span of ships, we will see her for many more seasons and not only at European but also world ports.
