Or at least that's what the game looked like when it was released. However, thanks to the persistent work of motivated developers, it has changed beyond recognition. In the current version, you have a game mode in which you go through abandoned barns and junkyards yourself and look for cars suitable for renovation. After their often lengthy repair, you can then offer them in various auctions or display them in your private collection. The profit from repairs will be useful in modifying the workshop, from which you can build a car collector's paradise over time.

But Car Mechanic Simulator 2018 is mainly about the repairs themselves. Correct troubleshooting isn't always the most obvious, so you'll need to think carefully about which of the thousands of parts available in your vehicles needs replacing. But the game doesn't deprive you of the feeling of driving either - after a successful repair, you have to take all the cars to the circuit and test them to find out if everything works as it should.
