The new OS X Yosemite will also include iTunes 12, which Apple for the first time showed in July and will have a redesigned look that matches the new operating system. Now, Apple has also started distributing a redesigned form of its iTunes Store and App Store, they are getting a flatter and cleaner design in the style of iOS.
We can notice the changes right away in the most prominent element of the iTunes Store – the top panel, where until now cards with various news from the world of music and applications were displayed. This entire panel has been "flattened" and remade into a modern banner that can be rotated by dragging your finger on the touchpad.
All shading and other graphical elements have disappeared from the iTunes Store and App Store, everything is now white and clean with typography and buttons tuned to the style of OS X Yosemite. After all, it borrows a lot from iOS, so even the new form of stores resembles those from iPhones and iPads.
The new design has not yet been implemented in all corners of the iTunes Store, however, the final version of iTunes 12 should only be released together with OS X Yosemite, and it is possible that this will happen already on Thursday, October 16, when Apple will introduce new products.
I still don't really understand when and why it was called "flat" instead of "ugly". But I admit my taste is out of date.
Maybe you'll understand when you grow up
Like I'll grow out of Apple in no time?
I agree. Steve wake up, Iv's gone crazy
Am I the only one who really likes the current trend in a simple and clean look? I think that I don't need any trinkets and tinsel in a PC, but cleanliness, clarity and speed.
I would agree with cleanliness, clarity and speed. It is what Ive says it is. My opinion is that he probably wanted it that way, but that he is not succeeding. But that's just my feeling, I believe a lot of people like it. And I certainly can't do it better myself :-)
those artificial colors are disgusting, especially the green one...
It always feels like a step backwards to me :/
This is another very nice jump since switching to Aqua.
among us aesthetes, this would make one squirm... graphic level at the level of Painting on Windows 95, horror and horror... even children in kindergarten can handle it better...
totally agree! I can't wait when instead of 'play previous' we press close the window or another 'traffic light' - since 2004 I've been accustomed to a certain shape and functional design of windows on Mac, every time I start Yosemite I want to cry because of that hideous iTunes it doesn't even do anything better, it just changes colors and shape like plasticine :/
I have the impression that my dog was abused when he was young, he has some sexual abnormalities and I am afraid that he will grow up to be a sexual predator, last time when I showed him to sit down, he looked me in the eye and started licking the bird while he kept eye contact with me contact, last time he even tried to rape me, I've already been to a psychologist, but he didn't say a word, I don't know what to do, I'm really afraid that when he's older, he'll go naked in front of girls' intramurals, how can I help him?
iTunes does not need to change the appearance of a few frames and zigzags, but rather a fundamental change of concept. What used to be used to record music on an iPod (and even then it was considered cumbersome) simply can't still manage a device as complex as an iPhone or iPad 15 years later. I was really hoping that with Yosemite we would see some kind of major shift. Whether it's round or square, it's still going to be that oversized behemoth that looks like it's not even from Apple :-((
I agree - in its current form it is used stupidly and colors and shapes are secondary.
Haven't you learned to control one program in 15 years?
