In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. We focus here exclusively on the main events and leave aside all speculations and various leaks. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

The first major bug appeared in macOS 10.15.5

It was only this week that we saw the release of the macOS 10.15.5 Catalina operating system to the general public. In connection with this version, the most talked about is undoubtedly the new function that bears the label Battery health and can significantly save its lifespan. Of course, nothing in the world is without mistakes. Program creator Carbon Copy Cloner has shared a brand new bug related to the Apple File System (APFS) via a blog post. The current version of the operating system prevents users from creating boot clones of their system disks. The developers of the mentioned software encountered this problem for the first time in the beta version, when they expected the bug to be removed before the release of the full version. Another problem is that the user is not even notified of the error when creating the clone in question. The entire operation goes through with a confirmation message Success, while the disc is not created at all.

Fortunately, the bug does not occur in other operating systems, so for example CCC users with macOS 10.15.4 can back up their system disks normally. Programmer Bombich, who took care of the creation of the above-mentioned blog post, said at the end that it might not even be a bug, but a kind of security patch. But for many people, such a case is worse than a temporary mistake. The Carbon Copy Cloner application is directly based on the creation of bootable copies, and of course its users require this function. Apple has already been notified of these events. For the time being, of course, it is not clear how the whole situation will proceed.

The camera is equipped with a very strong reflector for possible lighting and also offers a loud siren that can produce up to 105dB sound. This combination is of course a great solution for any uninvited guests. But how does the Smart Outdoor Camera deal with recognizing an "intruder" in low-light conditions? In this case, the camera benefits from the integrated infrared night vision, with which it can possibly detect an oncoming car, people, or even a dog. When movement is detected, the mentioned reflector is activated and the siren starts to sound, which can scare the thief and drive him away. Of course, everything depends on the setting itself, so you don't have to worry about the siren honking in your garden with any movement.

Potential use (Netamo):

In the event of detection, the camera simultaneously alerts the user through a notification on the mobile device. This product offers a 4 Mpx video sensor, 100° viewing angle, FullHD resolution and can connect to the phone using a WiFi network at a frequency of 2,4 GHz. If you would like to improve the security of your home, you can pre-order the Netatmo Smart Outdoor Camera for $349,99 (about 8,5 thousand crowns) on the official website.
