There aren't that many games that can offer you the experience of playing as a negative character. A short time ago, we wrote about Legend of Keepers, for example, which put you in the role of a dungeon manager, in which you are disturbed by groups of brave heroes. Although the game Carrion departs from similar strategic thinking, it is able to convey very well what it is like to play as a Carpenter monster. It will offer an experience full of blood, screams and sophisticated gameplay.

Carrion immediately impresses with its appearance. The developers chose a pixel-art style to represent the theme, evoking games from the era of sixteen-bit consoles. The retro nature of the game is reflected in the genre itself. Carrion is an honest metroidvania, i.e. a representative of a genre whose roots can be traced back to the eighties of the last century. If you have never played such a game, then know that you will wander through vast levels and gradually acquire new abilities (in the case of Carrion mutation) that will help you get to previously inaccessible locations. For this, you will not only need a good memory during the exploration of the level itself, but especially good reflexes during fights with people who won't let themselves be eaten by you.

As an alien monster, you will have a number of advantages against humans. You can quench your bloodlust by simply eating enemies or throwing an item at an unsuspecting victim. For this, you will use a number of tentacles, which, in addition to combat, you will also use during the exploration of secret laboratories.
