The 2017 HomePod smart speaker is now facing a huge bug. A number of Apple users are starting to complain through networks like Reddit and Twitter about the fact that their speakers mysteriously stop working. At first it seemed that the beta version of the HomePod 15 operating system was to blame, however, the bug also appeared on devices with version 14.6.

The post is also interesting in this regard users on Reddit, who has 19 HomePods at home, of which 6 of them use the mentioned beta version, while the rest run on version 14.6. Subsequently, within one day, 7 speakers stopped working, of which 4 running on the beta and 3 on the normal version. At the same time, all of them were connected as default speakers for the Apple TV.

In any case, there are quite a few similar complaints on the Internet, which indicates that this is (probably) not such an isolated problem. Most Apple users whose HomePod suddenly stopped working were using it in stereo mode and connected to an Apple TV. It is currently recommended not to install the HomePod 15 beta, which is currently only available to developers. Of course, this can be circumvented through third-party sites where you can get an unauthorized beta. In this case, however, you cannot count on help from Apple.

Another apple seller rushed in with advice and even got in touch with an Apple technician. He advised him to unplug his HomePod and not use it until a new software update is released. This will prevent possible damage to the logic board. However, it is not yet clear whether this is a software or hardware error. At the moment, there is nothing left but to wait for more information.
