We are only a few days away from the start of WWDC, and therefore Apple is at the peak of preparations for new operating systems that will premiere at the conference. Along with this, interested employees and external workers of the company get their hands on test versions. A foreign server also gained access to the others 9to5mac, which he published during the week images from iOS 13 and now comes screenshots showing a pair of new apps in macOS 10.15.

The information that this year's macOS will offer a separate app for Music and Apple TV surfaced almost two months ago, and the new screenshots only confirm it. Although the images are rather tight-lipped on details, they confirm to us that Apple has indeed decided to separate Apple Music from iTunes, which is only a welcome move. The design of both applications is in the same spirit, however, the processing is perhaps too simple and the environment thus gives a rather drab impression.

The user interface, which is carried in a slightly different design language than the rest of the system applications, only confirms that Apple used the Marzipan project to create applications. Thanks to it, he is able to port an iOS application to macOS in a relatively simple way, and he wants to present the same possibility to third-party developers at WWDC. However, critics are already saying that switching applications from the iOS version to macOS will bring more problems than benefits, since 100% compatibility will not be ensured and the applications will therefore not be tailored to the system.

The new Music and Apple TV apps could be proof of that. So far, it seems that the engineers at Apple did not win much with them. During the summer testing - or until Apple releases a sharp version of the system for regular users in the fall - a lot can change, and the company can fundamentally improve the applications both in terms of design and functionality.

If we focus on specific applications, then Music (Music) should become the home of the Apple Music streaming service. It should also offer some functions from iTunes, such as the ability to synchronize and backup an iPhone or iPod. The Apple TV application, on the other hand, will be home to TV+, which will arrive in the fall. Along with this, it will also become a library of purchased movies, again partially replacing iTunes. Similarly, Podcasts should be separated into a separate application, but they are not captured in the images.

The new macOS 10.15 should be nicknamed Mammoth after the Mammoth Mountain lava mountain complex in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the city of Mammoth Lake in California. However, there are also three other titles in the course that we paid more attention to in a separate article. In addition to the new applications Music, Apple TV and Podcasts, the system should offer expanded authentication options through the Apple Watch, the Screen Time function known from iOS 12, the Shortcuts app and support for iPad as an external monitor for Mac.
