The week went by like water, and even now we were not deprived of various speculations, estimates and predictions. This time, for example, the forthcoming iOS 14 operating system, as well as functions for the future Apple Watch Series 6 or AirTag location tags, were all hinted at.

Round batteries for locator pendants

That Apple is preparing a tracker with Bluetooth connectivity is practically clear thanks to recent leaks. MacRumors reported that the tag will be called AirTag. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company could introduce location tags during the second half of this year. The supply of energy will most likely be provided by replaceable round batteries of the CR2032 type, while in the past there was more speculation that the pendants should be charged in a similar way to the Apple Watch.

Augmented reality in iOS 14

A special application for augmented reality could possibly be part of the iOS 14 operating system. The application should allow users to track their location at any time using augmented reality. Codenamed Gobi, the app appears to be part of a larger augmented reality platform that Apple may introduce with iOS 14. The tool could also allow businesses to create a QR code-style label that could then be placed virtually in the premises of the company. After pointing the camera at this label, a virtual object could appear on the iOS device's display.

iOS 14 and the new iPhone desktop layout

iOS 14 could also include a completely new iPhone desktop layout. Users could now get the ability to organize the application icons on the desktop of their iOS device in the form of a list - similar to, for example, the Apple Watch. An overview of Siri suggestions could also be part of the new look of the iPhone desktop. If Apple were to actually implement this innovation with the release of iOS 14, it would undoubtedly be one of the most significant changes to the iOS operating system since the launch of the first iPhone in 2007.

Apple Watch Series 6 and blood oxygen measurement

It looks like the next generation of Apple's smartwatches will bring even better options to users when it comes to monitoring health functions. In this case, it could be to improve the ECG measurement or start the function to measure the blood oxygen level. The relevant technology has been a part of the Apple Watch since the release of the first version, but it has never been used in practice in the form of a corresponding native application. Similar to the irregular heartbeat alert feature, this tool should be able to alert the user that their blood oxygen level has dropped to a certain level.
